I agree. He held the position for less than a decade, and he looked like he could barely stand on his own during Christmas Mass.
 
I wasn't a big fan. Though to be fair, I wasn't going to be a fan of anyone considering the tough act they had to follow in jp2

LOL, true. When I heard he was getting a twitter all I could think was the poor old dude probably just tells somebody what he wants to say and thinks they are off sending a telegram.
 
IIRC, the reason they elected such an old Pope was fast turnover. JP was young when he was elected and was pope for a looong time.

Yeah or morse code lol. But that aside the next guy should at least under stand social media , Im not asking for a hip Pope , that would be douchy but some one who likes at technology for the communication benefits

Yeah that would certainly be advantageous. Particularly in an age when more and more people are going away from the church.

YEah its better to know the landscape and try to use it to your advantage than be ignorant and staying in the Dark and be even farther disconnected , I think now the catholic church's influence is the lowest its been in many many years and there are many factors involved with that but it doesn't help when the leaders at the top don't understand the mind of a younger worshipper, that and the child abuse scandals

I was born catholic and I still believed there is something there but I do have common sense , I also believe in Evolution but you would be surprised how many religious people try to discredit it. I think the stories in the Bible are allegories but some people try to take it too literally

I agree very much. To be clear, I'm not ripping on the Catholic church. All intelligent design religions are on the decline right now when it comes to younger generations.

The concept of organized religion is just so off putting to me now but you would be surprised that so many people still need it as a crutch , they need to believe , that's the case for older to middle aged people , but yeah the younger people tend to lean on believing in themselves even if some of the younger crowd are lazy fat pieces of shit (sorry just an observation of the younger people I've met recently)

My Biggest resentment towards the C.Church is their way of demonizing contraception they actually told the youngsters in our local church that Condom use is "Murder"

That depends on the community , I've heard of alot of them doing that and that is retarded. But in mine , I remember going to Confirmation class and I remember this from one of the Nun's " Look I'm supposed to tell you that contraception is evil and that you should practice abstinence till marriage, honestly that is up you , should make your own choices, what I'm going to ask you today is to think for yourselves and weigh your actions and the consequences that could happen"

In hindsight she was one sensible lady

Haha Confirmation I was never confirmed.
I studied in a Catholic School since Kinder Graten.

And based on my Observation Nun's are generally more level headed than the Priests and they seem to be more in touch with the masses and reality. They are also less Bigoted and talk less BS. If there is a Calamity its usually the Nuns who go to help people without proselytizing they just help. I have respect for Nun's to be honest.
