The dude was 9-1 in the UFC, hadn't moved in the rankings for like 4 years, and no one gave a shit about him despite being a striking based fighter. I know he was cocky, but there's a part of me that thinks, if he was just overdoing the shit talk on Gaethje to generate interest at that point cuz the UFC is terrible at actually promoting it's fighters, then I feel really bad for how the rest of his career played out and the hate he got during it.

looking back at the replay, that was actually more like an AXE kick, from the ground. Upkicks normally are exactly that -- straight up at the guy's head, a bit like a jab. That was a frigging Axe kick from the ground, connected solidly with the heel. Don't recall ever seeing that before.

Doesn't matter anyway, I see how you see it as an Axe Kick I was just caught up on the traditional definition of it. But from an MMA perspective it was an axe kick from his back for sure, but Karate and Taekwondo guys will disagree.
