Some on the left have consistently labelled President Trump a "Nazi" and likened him to Adolf Hitler. However, when you take an objective look at the behavior of far left groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa (and their supporters) what parallels can you draw between their political philosophies and 1930's Nazism?

The far left offers promises of Socialism that they claim will make the national economic system more equitable.

The far left wants to eliminate opportunities for common, law abiding citizens to own guns.

The far left has normalized disparaging (and sometimes murdering) white people as a race they believe
unfairly benefit from the free market.

Incredible that anyone could actually be shameless enough to seriously proffer this question.

Nazism:
  • Nationalism
  • Anti-communism/anti-Marxism (violently opposed both forms of socialism: social democracy and communism)
  • Rigid party loyalty, enabling of political corruption
  • "Golden years" fetishization of the past
  • Anti-globalism
  • Charismatic leadership
  • Opposition to immigrants
  • Hostility to the political interests of ethnic and racial minorities
  • Close proximity to industrial and corporate power
  • Opposition to labor unions

I will say though. The left has the momentum of people and numbers and also academia and media. I think that is what OP is getting at. Hollywood and night time TV makes fun of conservatives. So right wingers are less powerful then they were before when they had morality laws governing Hollywood films and had no black or limited admissions to Universities.

The far left movements are more like Maoism, and many of the old school far left groups like black liberation groups and Puerto Rican independent groups were Maoist

But that’s surface level analysis of getting students to attack people and riot, and demand justice.

Well the whole thread is entirely a biased piece of shit when you fail to argue both sides.
He’s actually making a good-faith argument, in which he is admitting that awfulness of Trump is self-apparent and he need not explain why he is like a Nazi

Rather based, tbh

The German left had the relative support of academia as well. The Nazis were dishonest morons who despised intellectuals and were extremely hostile to the truth, so naturally there was friction with academia. The German media wasn't pro-Nazi, at least until they were in power, but they were more effectively sympathetic to the Nazis than the communists.

This continues to be a favorite tactic of the right: dishonestly trying to transfer ownership of strikingly similar right-wing movements of the past like Nazism while simultaneously trying to take credit for the work of past progressives like Lincoln or MLK. It's shameless, but it's necessary when actual right-wing movements in America haven't created anything positive for the country in 200 years.

Stop trolling.

They do the same. Right wingers also try and claim the actions of the USSR were "left wing" or Titos Yugoslavia. Its so dishonest

Also in Nazi germany and in USSR the intellectual class was wiped out. Noticing a trend of anti academia and arts among the right.

Regarding Germany. Didnt the masses of Germans come to support the Nazis though in time? Though perhaps more of a symptom of their dominant control they took and the different demographic and era of time.

Incredible that anyone could be shameless enough to discredit it as a valid question.

Nazism:
  • Nationalism
Nationalism (putting your own country first) has been a common theme among world leaders throughout history and is certainly not limited to Nazi ideals.

  • Anti-communism/anti-Marxism (violently opposed both forms of socialism: social democracy and communism)
This is also a common theme through many parts of the world and very much not limited to Nazi ideals.

  • Rigid party loyalty, enabling of political corruption
I have seen no worse rigid party loyalty (and political corruption) than the Obama administration's weaponization of government institutions against political opponents and illegally obtaining a FISA warrant to spy on a political opponent. We have not seen worse corruption in modern American history (perhaps ever).

  • "Golden years" fetishization of the past
America respecting its own past was very common (as it is in many countries) until just recently among the insurgents. That is certainly a weak attempt to tie Trump to Nazism.

  • Anti-globalism
Again, putting your own country first is not uncommon.

  • Charismatic leadership
iu

  • Opposition to immigrants
Trump has no opposition to legal immigration. He simply opposes illegal immigration (particularly the drug runners, human traffickers, and gangs).

  • Hostility to the political interests of ethnic and racial minorities

  • Close proximity to industrial and corporate power
It is the left that is strengthening the corporations right now. The riots and COVID-19 shut downs are destroying small businesses and increasing the market share of big businesses. Do you have a retirement fund? If you did, you would probably know what I am talking about.

  • Opposition to labor unions
Adolf Hitler loved unionized labor so much that he created a single government labor union to fix everyone's salaries and taxes across the board.
