I think the War Room needs to take a field trip to the book store. I'll get you guys the permission slips tomorrow. Make sure to have your parents/guardians sign them. It will be such a new and eye-opening experience for many of you as you've clearly never been to one before.

*more* relevant? I'm not sure how you evaluate that...but let's just say it could be relevant to both.

I'm honestly not sure who would be making such comparisons to Trump (which would be ridiculous) but I suspect it would be people who don't have a very good understanding of Hitler, the Nazi movement of his era, or fascism more broadly...and I would suspect the same for people who try to draw comparisons between those things and leftist movements in the U.S. today ;)
Try pundits paid very large sums of money to say these things on CNN or MSNBC. Joe Scarborough claimed on his morning show a couple years ago that people were being forced into showers (like in Nazi concentration camps) in ICE detention centers. Clips of that video have since been removed from You Tube (as have many others) to cover for these morons saying these things.

I think it is lazy to exaggerate and compare anyone to Hitler or cry 'fascists!' when people don't really understand what that means...and, if anything, it takes away from their argument. If someone has a solid argument when criticizing something/someone, they shouldn't need to resort to making such wild (and misguided) comparisons.
Under most circumstances, I would agree with you, but the OP shows real philosophical parallels. No where in this thread did I claim that most Democrats hold these beliefs, but there is a very loud and powerful sect of the left that is pushing some extreme ideas.

I think the parallels are a stretch and/or held by a small fraction of even those within some movements like BLM...and it is a critical distinction that these ideals were central to the philosophy of the Nazi party that rose to power in Germany, whereas the alleged parallels here are being made with the extreme fringe on the left that is not remotely as large or powerful.

The U.S. will never experience socialism that even remotely resembles what you see in Venezuela. "Anti-white" sentiments will never become a central theme in a party that is mostly white. It will never be politically tenable to simply 'take away the guns'.

You're taking a group of ideals that *collectively* apply to Nazism and looking at them on an individual basis when trying to draw parallels with the extreme left, but also they clearly don't even apply to the same groups on the left. How can this 'sect' on the left disparage and advocate for violence against white people, yet also have used abortion as a eugenics tool against black people?

It's right up at the top of BLM's leadership. "Identity Marxism" and calling for the dismantling of the existing system, death of police, etc.

Nazis also began as a small, extreme fringe. Hitler lost his first election big. He gained influence (and then power) by repeatedly banging the drum of his philosophical/political beliefs.

I think you are being too optimistic. We have seen powerful corporations bend the knee to these movements, and we all know where politicians get their money.

Hitler's S.A. ("Brownshirts") was a rouge militia that used threats and intimidation to pressure people. Hitler made a promise (which he never intended to keep) to the leader of the S.A. (Ernst Röhm) that he would absorb him into the official German military after Hitler rose to power. When Hitler eventually did rise to power, he murdered Röhm because Röhm threatened to go public and Hitler no longer needed him anyway. It's not really a network of loyalty.

Nothing is remotely close to Nazism anywhere in the world today.
The sad reality is that a bunch of retards in MSM and politics are calling everything Nazism without comprehending what they're talking about.

This thread is simply comparing philosophies and behavior. Nazism had its genesis somewhere. It wasn't spawned overnight.
