The polling showed McConaughey ahead of Abbott by 12 points, well outside the polls margin of error of plus or minus 2.92 percentage points. The actor was supported by 45 percent of Texas voters while the incumbent governor was backed by just 33 percent of respondents.

So, first of all - Abbott sucks. Screw that guy.

However, screw Matthew McConaughey too. Screw him and his torturous Lincoln car commercials. Stop turning celebrities into politicians!

Alright.

you seem biased.. my take you're still spoon fed

He certainly isn't going to be any more ineffectual, partisan or paid for than our current legislature in the House and Senate. If he thinks he can do it then he might as well give it a shot. If he sucks then just don't vote for him again so he's replaced.

Abbot has ticked a few people off with his shutdown and denouncing gab. Abbot opening Texas back up was likely to appease people that voted for him.
