When dustin lost to conor in their first fight, he was one of the examples i used to justify conors soft tko wins. Dustin went down, but wasnt out. Neither were a few other of conors wins. Only one conor got was aldo and it took aldo running into it to crystallize it.

Dustin was covering up completely blind and flailing his arms praying anything coming would be Chandler's trademark looping shots. Luckily for him, they were (and that Chandler eventually decided to go for a TD).

It was the same thing in Conor 2. Poirier again said he got hurt and "flashed", but that Conor never followed up on it to make it matter:

Poirier's chin has never improved. People just fight him really stupidly and so don't actually end up hitting him when he's hurt, and he's a much more seasoned veteran nowadays who can stay calm and maintain his defence around his opponent's tendencies even when he's hurt.

Was coming to mention this, that is a great point.

Poirier specifically said that Chandler could have gotten him out of there if he thew straight punches, and he could barely see what was coming.

Great ringmanship by Poirier and generally bad striking discipline by Chandler.

I think its also worth noting, Dustin does a really good job rolling with punches.

I’m not sure that’s true for Chandler. He’s probably just as likely to get McGregor as he was before this. A title shot against Islam would be great for him but he’s probably losing and it will be less exciting. This keeps up his streak and the most guaranteed action fighter in the sport along with Gaethje. If he turns around fights a lower ranked/lesser known opponent (say Gamrot) then I’d agree that he should really try to get the W at the expense of action. But this fight was great and he nearly won it. Would have gotten very interesting if he’d completed the 3rd round takedown cleanly since DP showed no ability to get away in the 2nd.

Running the JBG gauntlet of Gaethje, Eddie, Hooker and Chandler is a tremendous accomplishment. Tack on the Holloway and McGregor wins (plus other good wins like Pettis and Miller) and it’s been a pretty special run at 155. Got out-grappled by two all-time legends and got caught once.
 
There's something about Poirier that I love.
He never gives up.

True but a lot of ppl forget MJ was a big hitter. Getting koed by him deff doesn't tarnish a chins rep. MJ could bang, even Usman who's much bigger has admitted MJ dropped him in sparring sessions

Only thing conor is excellent at is selling his fights. This is why so many bought into his hype and now that hes lost a few, people are shocked, while im like: NO SHIT

Yes he did, because Conor caught him with a rabbit punch (that I used to self deny as a Conor fan ) … Gif challenge (from a lazy user).
 
Poirier's durability is fucking ridiculous.
 
The Dustin/ Justin fight needs to be ran back while other contenders, Alex and dariush get their shots

Dusting thrives in the violence. He's very tough, durable and has a very good chin. Offensively, he has a lot of power and when he gets going he's good at putting together combinations. He loves to drag the fight into the deep water since he's confident he can come out on top. It's what makes him such a fun guy to watch. He's got a very good boxing coach in Dyah Davis. I'm an older guy so I was a fan of his father.
