After the way you've spoken about me professionally, you are very welcome.
Everything aside, bit of a shit time at the moment with so many lay offs so I wish you all the best. Husband got Covid laid off by Apple and it hit us like a barrel. After being told to relocate to an office in San Francisco with his next job in banking when we'd moved to the desert 12 hours away he was effectively laid off again. He's now remote with Apple so who the fuck knows what is around the corner and what might happen for you in the future.

Are you okay to see it through till the new year?

I missed this edit.. damn bud, I'm sorry to hear this. Just take some time be upset and pissed and whatever you have to for bit. Nothing wrong with that.

Then get back to it, and I'm sure a resilient person such as yourself will find an even better opportunity. It may take a while, the job market sucks right now, but it will happen. I can promise you that, even if it takes a little while. In meantime, appreciate everything else in life more while you have the time off.

Honestly, if I ever get laid off for some reason.. I will immediately take a two week trip to Japan to get my resume and portfolio together while I travel across the country. That a plan I've got in the back of my mind. Use this time to do some shit that you didn't have time for before.

like you mentioned just dealing with the natural shock, anger, confusion in this first bit.
I have to be resilient . I’m turning a lot of negatives into positives in my head.

Definitely will use this time to do some things I didn’t get to all these years as a corporate slave in society.

Just need to gather myself and be better everyday !
 
You need to focus on getting another job. Take a good look at yourself and your former job. Is this the job/career you want to do? If not, try something else. Maybe this layoff is a chance for you to find a better job that makes you happy and pays more. Best of luck to you.

That sucks but it‘s a problem that disappears if you get a new job.
 
Don't sweat it sherbro, getting laid off happens to all of us at some point if you work in the same field long enough. As others have said, take time out to process and chillax as you work to get back on your feet. And remember to keep your sense of humor about everything.

LOL I just watched that entire episode. Brought back memories.

There's a great Easter egg in the episode where destro talks backwards.

Yeah I found out about that backwards chant years after the episode aired and thought it was so cool. Even the chant itself sounds cool AF because it's Destro saying it. Destro was a total G and was boinking Baroness.

In hindsight, the old GI Joe cartoons aged very well and had some of the best writing bar none. They always incorporated real world topics like rough family situations, getting laid off from a job, workplace dating, sexual harassment, getting old, etc.

No gig unfortunately. Was about to fly out of Italy to Greece that night, so much for that plan. Just got back home and getting it checked by a Swiss Dr, Italy's medical system is pretty bad :rolleyes:
