Playing poker at a casino.

Limit poker is for senior citizens
Some people can't be thrown right into the deep end. Sides some limit games I've played when I don't want to get nuts on no limit have gotten quite spendy

They hlare having a $160 buy in, no limit Texas Holden tournament this Saturday. Even if I don’t place high enough to get anything back that’s still less then I lost Friday so I might give it a shot.

poker can be fun, but it's only fun if you're really focused and concentrated on the game. it's not a, "fun" game, if you know what i mean. it's a lot of work.

for fun, i like playing craps. i like craps a lot, because you can make a lot of money without actually playing. it's also fun, because you're not playing against the other players. you're playing against the house. you make lots of friends around the table playing craps.

I have very limited experience of playing in Vegas.

I got reamed in the no limit cash games. I sat at a low steaks table but the reality was that you saw no cheap flops. I think I'd want at least $500 to burn before I tried that again.

Tournaments are better value for money, but find out how long the tourney is scheduled to run. Cheaper buy ins tend to be shorter format which means the blinds climb quickly. I played one where I tripled my stack by the first break and thought I was doing ok. Before I knew it, the blinds were so big I was gonna be blinded out. More expensive tournaments may have a longer / slower format.

I preferred the atmosphere at the tournament tables as well.

All the hard ways!!!

I'm happy with both.

I spent 24 hours straight at the tables at the Venetian when I was in Vegas. Started at the Grand, then Ceasars. Then ended up there. 24 hours straight and I broke even. Lol .(With a little bit of help from party favors if you know what i mean)

I use to back in the day, but that was like 14-15 years ago. Usually just limit or no-limit holdem or tournaments. Now I just play blackjack or pai gow, but last time I went to Vegas I barely played at all.

I play blackjack sometimes but I don't like the 50/50 odds. You just get what you put in. Poker or Craps for me. But I like 3 card poker now too

Yeah. I don’t really play to win. I just like to play with friends and chill. If I win, great. If I lose, oh well. Craps and Roulette are fun too. I like doing MMA parlays too

1/2 and 2/5 NL...

Regulars will smell noobs out in a few minutes if you are new to casino poker.

My suggestion would be to play tight and aggressive and observe for as long as possible till you get comfortable.
I've never played at a casino. Do you think being good at online poker crosses over well to casino poker or does it take some getting used to?

If your gonna go for the turn or river do so only on flush or straight draws. As you gain more experience you will be able to bluff and do all that crazy shit you see them try on wsop

Sorry broski but that is some bad advice.

'm down with 3 card for the past few years, and I've lost my stake a lot with only a few comp drinks to show for it, but I've also left the tables with some major cash a few times.

If you play $20 a box or $80 a hand and you hit with the dealer once or twice, it adds up quick. I honestly have no idea of the odds when compared to craps or blackjack but I've had luck at it and its a lot of fun too!

I see there is a new varient of 3 card getting really popular, Mississippi or Caun or something.

It's my play style sometimes and it holds up fairly well. I can look for the turn or the river when I need to but beginning players should stick to the flop until they have some good exp.

It's all about patience. And I'm not talking about not playing turn or the river period. All too often I see people who might have a pocket pair and they hold out hope for the turn or river so they go toe to toe with someone betting extreme amounts, and it all avails to nothing. You just need to be careful playing them

Nah, I'm a roulette guy.

Or penny slots.

Haha.

Not sure these days. I am not an online player anymore so I am not sure how the game is now. But general poker strategies and theories work the same. Online are a bit more loose than casino players though (1/2 NL is the exception maybe since it’s kinda loose there too).

It’s the other things like not knowing or bending casino rules such as string betting that will get you noticed and put a bullseye on your back. Many a times I’ve sat at the tables with regulars and some noob waltz in with all sorts of tells and we are all mentally frothing at mouth hoping to be the one going 1v1 against the noob.

6-Max Online
.10cent/.20cent is = $1-$2 no limit live

Online poker is far different than live full ring games. And 6 max online is completely different

Poker has changed Drastically in the past 15 years. The game isn’t even close to being the same.

Live cash I like 2/5 no limit or 5/10 no limit but that’s a HUGE game and requires a serious investment of time and bankroll management.
