- mma prodigy at a young age, was supposed to become one of the greats
- rushed into MMA too early because of his accolades
- got finished and knocked out by grown men
- looked very good in a lot of fights
- looked very good tonight until he caught a spinning elbow and more brain damage

He's only 28 and he's already taken a lot of damage. He has all the talent in the world but I think he's going to be a victim of circumstance.

He's looked good against guys that aren't really that great themselves and that's it. Dude took 2 rounds to finish Adlii Edwards, who sucked.

He didn't look good tonight. He was wading in with dumb punches and then eventually waded right into a KO.

Send him back to Bellator with Patchy, Pitbull, and MVP.

Unlucky?

He is willfully engaging in firefights when he has a massive wrestling advantage over every opponent he faces.

It’s not unlucky, he’s just an idiot for not playing to his strengths.

He should have fought like Chimaev and spammed takedowns all day against a guy who didn’t even wrestle in high school.

No matter how talented you are it's hard to make it in professional fighting when you have no chin. It's a helluva lot harder when you have a super aggressive heavily pressuring style. His chin was always going to be a problem for him but his team really failed him. Once they figured out his chin wasn't very good they should've tried to build his style around that. Use his boxing to stay at range and mix in a lot of wrestling. He does way too much rushing in leading with that porcelain chin. His fighting style would work if he had a great chin but when you fight like that and you don't you're basically just flipping a coin of who's gonna get who first.

If you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones and if you have a glass chin, don’t try to be a brawler. He has the skills to go further but his chin and fight IQ will hold him back.

While I do think he was pushed to quickly in mma and should have started with lighter competition from the get go and eased his way in, he has always had a suspect chin. I remember early on him getting chicken danced in his first few fights.

That chin is dust going forward in his career. He will get KO’d again
Going forward? He nearly got KTFO by an uppercut before getting choked out in 24 seconds in his very first MMA fight by a guy with only 1 TKO win in his career. His chin being a problem was evident right out of the gate.

Poor Iq

Huge wrestling advantage but decides to make it a fire fight and plodded right into a KO.

True, but now it’s even worse.

Guy is powerful and explosive but he’s over aggressive and poor defensively. It works against low to mid level guys he can overwhelm but the elite will punish you for that.

I get it, but I'm not even going to pretend Murphy is KOing everyone now. Pico played a dangerous game and won his prize. He has the skills to win, but came up short.

Bellator signed a guy who had lost two of his last three on the regional circuit to face Pico in his first fight. That guy hit him with a sloppy telegraphed uppercut nearly knocking him the fuck out then guillotined him all in 24 seconds. LOL

This beast

He came in wanting to prove a point and make a statement. Didn't pay off, but Dana will view it higher than if he'd just squeaked out a decision.
