These guys have amazing upper bodies but no legs---they look just like curl/bench jokeys. Of course, they're amazingly strong and coordinated. Based on what I've seen from their routines, legs are just dead weight for them (kiinda like upper body for cyclists). Are they the only athletes who want underdeveloped legs?

I guess you're thinking of the bars, rings, and pommel horse. They're definitely using their legs on the floor exercises. I think they have stronger lower bodies than you're thinking. They just aren't powerlifting style lower bodies.

Really. I knew a couple of gymnasts in college and they had massive legs, they just looked small because of the development in their upper bodies.

Gymnasts are incredible athletes. So strong and coordinatedand all that crap.

They have really strong legs as well, just not big. All that jumping they do..That builds lots of strength.

I wish i took gymnastics when I was younger..I heard, after just a few years, you build up a tremendous amount of endurance, balance and strength.

Yeah I really wished I did too. Gymnastics get alot of shit. I know because I give it to them. Yet its a great thing to do, I personally hope when gym classes get properly funded in the U.S. they add gymnastics as well as all the sports they have.

physique challenge: gymnast vs. wrestler?

For me, wrestler. But the relevant question is what a chick would prefer-my guess is gymnast. And I think that women are attracted to the swimmer physique, not to the powerlifter type.

Yeah but gymnasts are usually fucking short. Most chicks I've talked to prefer taller guys.

that's because it's better to be short in gymnastics.

Gee thanks for the tip. I would've never known that, thanks again!

we are talking about the type of physique that one would have after doing both sports, Being short does not have anything to do with gymnastics it's just that the coaches pick the shorter guys. Therefore, your comment really doesn't pertain to the conversation at hand.

ok I get it, yes you're right gymnastics won't make me shorter.

All the gymnasts I know have well developed, very strong, very powerful legs. Anyone who can do 2 flips with a twist in the air has powerful legs

What the fuk....

Gayest thread in s-s-p in a looong time.

....And yeah gymnastics is cool shit. So is wrestling. Good athletes in both tends to be incredibly fit...

I totally agree with you - I saw that you tagged another gay post (the gorrilla vs t rex?)
Why has the strength and power forums been reduced to physique beauty contest :(
To the OP: Who the hell wants UNDERdeveloped legs?!?!? They definitely have above normal legs with exceptional upper body strength.

The difference in size is probably due to the fact that their upper body work is high volume, whereas their leg work is done in very short bursts. In any case, gymnasts are incredibly impressive (talking about the sport you homos).
