4 hours ago, as I was entering my building, a short, ugly and flabby guy was talking with his short, ugly and flabby 10-12 years old son. They were talking about footbal (not the american one, with the fat black players, but the european one, with the sex symbols players), more exactly Flabby Sr. was teasing Flabby Jr. about his favorite team. And that was not the only time I've seen them. And it is so deplorable to see men like these two (again short, ugly and flabby, quite fat actually) who are the fans of some guys who are so much better then them when it comes to physical traits and money. Instead of taking his son to a gym, he is teaching his son to worship guys in a much better shape than him who make so much money than his father. Pitiful!
In MMA there aren't unorganised fights between the fighters, from what I know, but in soccer there are quite a lot in so many countries, from the european ones to the south american ones. Soccer hooligans (most of them ugly, fat and clearly making in one month less then Ronaldo makes in 15 minutes) are fighting for their teams, teams that are made of players who, like we already established, are in a far superior physical shape and having much more money than their fans.
When it comes to MMA, what is the deal with these fans? And this is a serious question.
I remember the KO from Reem vs Ngannou, when 3 guys, all fat and clearly out of shape, were cheering like morons the KO of a guy who has so much money than them and is clearly in so much better shape than them, even when he is on the floor, knocked the fuck out.
Also, from another fights, I've seen many of these fans who are cheering the KO of a fighter who is in a better shape then them. Many times a decent fighter as a human being, not that it matters.
So...
1. Do you consider it pitiful and deplorable too?
2. If a fan is out of shape and fat is he more likely to cheer for a fighter who is not so athletic?
3. When you choose your favorite fighters, what are your criterias?
- excitement in the ring;
- overall character;
- physical resemblance;
- character resemblance;
- type of fighter (stand-up, ground);
- he is a top fighter in the same martial art that you practice;
- others (specify, don't be shy).
