After a quick 1st round finish at WSOF 31, one of the MW's top prospects in Phil Hawes steps in on short notice against Louis Taylor who is on a 5 fight win streak (all finishes) and is 1-0 in WSOF, 12-3 overall. How do you guys like this fight for Hawes?

At first I thought, bad move. But its low risk, big reward. Hawes loses, he's 4-1 and lost to a more experienced veteran. He wins, he's 5-0 with a nice scalp on his record.

As a fan of his, this fight worries me. Taylor is on the older side but he's no slouch and has more experience than Hawes does. If he wins I'll be impressed but I hope WSOF brings him along slowly.

This is a tough fight for Hawes, as Taylor's nickname is as dangerous as he is. I saw Hawes's elbow party from the recent WSOF card but this is a very stiff fifth fight for a prospect hyped up to be the next Cain/Jones.

Nothing wrong with a prospect taking a big step. As long as he isn't facing a killer and gets brutally KO'ed a loss isn't going to affect him. This is the sport that has a MW champ with like 7 losses, a WW champ with 10, a LW one with like 7 as well. Losing doesn't kill you in this sport.

Nothing at all. I think it'll give the fans a good idea about where he is as a fighter at this point in his career. If he wins this though, I just hope WSOF doesn't fast track him or anything. It isn't like their MW division is strong.

He better watch his neck against taylor.
