Idk, I just think this is the best idea the UFC can do at the moment.

Diabate has a chance on upsetting Davis on the feet & his ground game ain't too to bad either.

Just a thought, Diabate's coming off that submission over Griggs, the same Griggs that Davis was scheduled to fight before Prado stepped in to fill for Griggs the 1st time they met.

What say you Sherdog?!
 
Terrible matchup for Diabate. I'm a fan of his but Davis deserves someone a little higher up IMO
 
I like Diabate but I think he gets subb'd in under 2 minutes.
 
Davis would bet him easily...but it's really a lose/lose for Phil.
 
Diabate would get crushed on the ground, probably inside the first.

I like him and wouldn't wish a match-up like that on him.

I'd love to see him tee off on Beltran or something.

I don't know about that. I don't think it would be a bad idea to give Davis some favorable match-ups to build him up, makes no sense to put him in fights that would vault him into contendership when there's still quite a long stretch of time before he could fight for the title even at the earliest. Sonnen, Machida/Hendo winner and even Gustafsson/SHogun winner is ahead of him in the pipeline now.

Put Davis out there just destroying people and build a good buzz instead, sort of like Thiago Alves big run before UFC 100
 
Nope bring in Mousasi, Kyle, Feijo(if not still suspended)

What about Bader, Matyshenko, Vera

or best answer bring back new LHW Anthony Johnson
 
I still can't believe that Diabate is fighting in the UFC. Whenever I see him the only thing I can think of is Shogun stomping his head in Pride. One of the most brutal KOs ever.

bader...now that seems interesting. both are at about the same level, rankings-wise, and they have similar style (primarily wrestlers with sloppy striking).

??, hes def qualified to be in the ufc.

diabate would smoke davis if they remained standing, but odds are that he would take cd to the ground early and thats where it would stay.
 
yea not a good match up for diabate, i think thats an easy win for davis by sub
