PFL is also backed by the Saudi trust fund created by his Excellency Sheikh Turki Al Sheikh, the new combat sports overlord.

They can build their heavyweight division with Francis N'Gannou, and eventually work their way into getting top talent across all divisions while His excellency showers everybody with money.

''his Excellency Sheikh Turki Al Sheikh'' bruh you don't need to kiss his ass, he won't chop year head off in here
Just say his name no need to worship the guy

Doesn't matter what they said, he'll eventually fight for them soon then people will know who has the biggest star in combat sports. You can't buy that type of publicity if you tried.
There are so many bigger names than him in both boxing and mma

calm down conor is still the biggest star in combat sport, ngannou is not the type of guy who will promote and sell his fights.

They sure did. You'd have to be a fucking idiot to let him slip through your fingers. A, short-sighted, petty, unstable, vengeful, self-important, narcissistic, balding, wife-beating, pink idio-- oh.

And with Francis crossing over to the boxing crowd, they can potentially work with the Saudis to even introduce some way of making hybrid fights - boxing in 4oz gloves, etc., that would allow their roster to fight pro boxers with appropriate rulesets. I heard a couple boxers suggest that would have been a more fair ruleset for Francis's fight with Fury. I wonder what kinds of plans they are plansing over there with unlimited money and execution ability.

it's too early to tell, but Ngannou obviously a huge step up in the game. The boxing match against Fury helped out so much. The president guy, Donn Davis I think, he seems very legit, had a great interview with Helwani, and said all of the right things, displayed the correct attitude, and seems to have his pulse on the consensus of the fans, hardcore fans. As long as they keep the right matchups going, they will continue their success. THe no nonsense answers fromm Don Davis was refreshing, I think they can go far.

There’s already talk that his PFL debut that was supposed to happen in the summer of 2024 is being pushed back to December 2024.

I’m not sure how everybody forgot that Ngannou is every bit as dishonest as Dana.

But I haven’t forgotten, and I’ll remind you fine folks from time to time.

I truly hope so.

Well that’s capitalism. Profits over ppl’s best interest.
No, that's crony capitalism. If people aren't interested, there won't be any profits. The Saudis have plenty of money and aren't motivated by selling something that the largest number of people want to see (profit maximization).

The next time u decide to change your plans to go to the supermarket in the afternoon and go to the evening instead because something else has changed and u needed to do it first, are u a liar then?

Try not to let your hatred get in the way of being a little more reasonable...

WME & Vince possibly now have doubts about Dana's decision making in the UFC since they lost a great opportunity with the bragging rights and publicity the UFC would have had right now touting their real HW champ who knocked down Tyson Fury and almost win the fight

Now also the publicity with the potential Wilder fight is now lost and his Excellency Sheikh Turki Al Sheikh, the new combat sports overlord is with Ngannou & PFL who could have been a very valuable ally for WME is now lost as well

Dana will be questioned about these bag fumbles by Vince and others in the next boardroom meeting that's for sure

Francis should've held off on signing with an MMA promotion until now. His stock is through the roof.

He could've had an even better deal from PFL.

UFC would give him anything right about now.

ONE would be showing a lot more interest.

Some rich person or group might even start a promotion to build around him.

Relax, the guy is 37 years old, nobody's starting a promotion to build around him. He got the best possible deal from PFL where he basically used them as a backstop and could still get paid to crush cans with nobody watching if the boxing negotiations fell through, and since he did get a fight with Fury, he probably isn't going to fight for them at all. He'll probably only fight for them at all if he gets smoked in another boxing bout, and even then he'll make his debut at 38 with no opponents that anybody's heard of.

Francis is going on 38 years old and is a one dimensional power puncher whose only title defense came against a 10 fight kickboxer who lost 3 rounds to 2.

Building an organization around him will not be much better than building it around Kimbo. Not saying Francis is not supremely better than Kimbo, but there's a reason he wouldn't hang around to face Jones, Sergei, Stipe trilogy, etc. -- he only had a year or two to cash in before father time catches up.

?? Crony capitalism has nothing to do with wanting to maximize profits. It has to do with the government being in the back pocket of corporations. Which is.... Saudi Arabia in a nutshell. A country that fixes oil prices, oil royalty runs the government and and murders journalists on government property and has people dress in their clothes to cover it up on the security cameras. Not to mention human trafficking.
One dimensional? Did we not watch him turn D1 Wrestling when he knew he couldnt plant and land power against Gane? Try again noob.

Everyone outside of the UFC are not "cans". You're the most condescending poster for black fighters. Just watch toughman in the south. You worthless sack.
