UFC was really stingy with who they signed in season one of the contender series. Even more bizarrely the guy he fought was Bill Algeo, who is now in the UFC!

Henrys resume is overrated by wikiwatchers but lets not pretend 2020s Marlon is the same as 2019 Marlon coming off finishing Aljo, Jimmie and Assuncao in less than a round combined.

I mean he fought Sheymon in his prime and then rematch went very differently. Obviously not same fighter. Shot chin and confidence while always being somewhat of a frontrunner hammer was never gonna age well.

I'm partly trolling. I still think Cejudo is a really food fighter that also stumbled into a nice lucky streak that elevated him into some sort of legendary status.

The average favorite is a -570 on this card. That's pretty f'ing pathetic especially for a tournament based event. Bellator showcase event level odds if not higher.

A little extreme, but its mostly true. I dont think theres a more fickle fanbase then MMA.

And theres often little to no taking into account the context of wins.

I have a silly question...because the PFL rules and tournament setting is pretty confusing to me. Under this format does it mean a "new" champion is crowned for every single season ? Like does the last season's champion lose the belt prior to the start of a new season since they have to start from 0 when a new season starts ?
