News PFL 2025 Tournament Rosters

Worst PFL season rosters ever … smaller fields of 8 and still talent wise is horrible

The first PFL Europe card of 2025 will be headlined by lightweights Paul Hughes and Bruno Miranda in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on May 10, the company announced Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Irish talent became one of the faces of the promotion with a win over AJ McKee Jr. in his PFL debut and a close majority decision loss against 155-pound champion Usman Nurmagomedov this past January.

A former featherweight champion inside the Cage Warriors cage with a pro record of 13-2, “Big News” Hughes won his past seven prior to the Nurmagomedov clash, including a trio of finishes since moving up to the lightweight division.

Miranda improved to 17-5 in the sport with a split-decision victory over ex-Bellator lightweight champion Patricky Pitbull in his most recent PFL appearance in June 2024, rebounding form back-to-back defeats to Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Brent Primus. One of Brazil’s prospects to watch in 2021, “Robusto” won eight of his past 10, half of those via stoppage.

The Belfast card will also serve to kick off the 2025 PFL Europe tournaments, which will pay the winners $100,000 later this year.

“The vocal support for Paul meant this was an easy decision, and I can’t wait to feel the atmosphere of The SSE Arena during the main event,” PFL CEO Pete Murray stated in a release. “But we plan to stack the card with our PFL Europe tournament fighters, and a host of athletes who are prepared to lay it all on the line and put on a show. Belfast, get your tickets, we have a feeling this event will go down in history.”

So, out of all the possible match-ups they could have made, they are making Primus fight Shabily again. Typical PFL.

It also looks like we could be seeing some more trilogy rematches again in the semi-finals with Pinedo/Braga and Impa/Silvera if evrything goes to shit, like it often does.

Ha, just realized that Davis already lost to Shabily in Bellator, so if he beats Collard, that's double rematches for Shabily. And if Collard wins and Primus pulls of the upset we'll get another stale rematch.

Rematches are the PFL way, because they want to get fighters as cheap as possible so they just keep the same guys year after year and barely sign new talent

It's funny because they were supposed be bringing in all these guys from the Bellator merger, now were just getting Bellator rematches.

PFL is just bad overall at developing talent or scouting it.

I predicted this when Bellator got bought, it will be fresh for a year or two and then we will get into the same problem like we did in PFL where it was just the same guys fighting over and over again. Like how many times do we have to see Chris Wade, Bubba, Loughnane, and Movlid fight each other

It was bad from the start. They made that poor Juliana Velasquez fight Liz Carmouche for the third time in a row for her first PFL fight giving her 3 consecutive losses to the same opponent. I also remember a lot a crappy rematches with the HWs right off the bat. These matchmakers have no fucking clue how to book fights.

He was injured for a year
No idea if he had a time limit in his contract

No one said anything about a time limit. He fought 3 times for them in 2023 and hasn't been heard from since.

Which fighters do you guys think have the easiest paths to the title? I haven't actually looked into it but are these set up for that fuckface Ali's clients to win, seeing as how PFL is basically a vassal state of Dominance MMA anyway?

Phil Davis, unless he is washed, he should wrestle his way to a title

Burgos said this yesterday

“When’s your next fight?!” a question I’ve answered more times than I can count at this point. God only knows the answer to that. I know a lot of the fans want to see me back in the UFC and i would honestly love to finish my career in the octagon! I’m not sure what my fighting future holds at the moment but there’s still plenty of gas left in the tank so I’ll just continue to stay ready and trust in His plan. Appreciate all the love, support and even interest in seeing me fight again. Next one best one..

Surprised someone like Ariel hasnt gotten him on cause he's been out for so long, he left UFC to go to PFL and didnt go well. Is he still signed, is he hurt, are PFL fucking him over not giving him fights?
