Rules of the PFL Season
Unified Rules of MMA apply, but NO Elbows
In NY, fighters cannot be within 25 pounds of one another, which caused difficulty for the HW fights
6 divisions (FW, LW, WW, MW, LHW, HW), 12 fighters each, and the top 8 fighters based on score advance to the tournament
Each fighter fights twice during this season, and can earn a maximum of 12 points if they stop both of their opponents in the first round
There are a series of tiebreakers that we'll run into if we get there with tied scores
At the end of the year, there will be a multi-stage tournament with the quarterfinals and semi-finals in one night, and then a year-end show to crown the winners of each weight class

SCORING RULES:
Winners get 3 points
Draws 1 point each
Loser gets 0 points

Stoppage Win Points
Win in Round 1 - 3 points
Win in Round 2 - 2 points
Win in Round 3 - 1 point

Fighter Pay:
Winner in each weight class earns $1 million
Runner-up in each weight class earns $200,000
Semifinal losers earn $100,000
Quarterfinal losers earn $50,000
Each fighters also makes their standard show/win money depending on their contract

Notes:
Shawn Jordan missed weight at HW by 9 pounds, and his fight with Philipe Lins was scuttled. Lins automatically gets 3 points added to his score.

Originally, the following fights were set:
Alex Nicholson vs. Kevin Tiller
Caio Alencar vs. Jake Heun

Due to NY not allowing fighters compete with a >25 lb weight difference between the two, the day before the fight, they reorganized the fights to:
Alex Nicholson vs. Jake Heun
Caio Alencar vs. Kevin Tiller

He does kind of look like the cat that ate the canary, doesn't he?

PFL updated the start time to 6:30 ET, however BE still says 6. Take that for what you will. The adjustment may have to do with Jordan/Lins being pulled.

JBG Bless

Just let them bang Bro !! Always a pleasure to listen to Basito commentate BOOM

Pre-fight show has begun. First fight slated to start at 6:30, so in 23 minutes from this post.

Hey Yves Edwards

If the FB stream does not work for you, go to the link on the first post saying FACEBOOK, it'll take you to PFLmmaLive's facebook page and go from there.

Oh cool, Sean O'Connell is in the booth. There's Randy and Bas too? Who's PBP? Todd Harris?

First fight is about to start. Joe Martinez is the announcer. War Martinez!

Barroso, for those that don't remember, used to fight at LHW in the UFC. He walked out to Eminem, and he didn't always have the most exciting fights.

The Decagon is huge. Lot of floor space to work with.

And beautiful, Barroso starts off with a groin kick.

The booth is super crowded tonight. Randy, Bas, Yves, and the PBP guy I can't seem to recognize is almost overkill.
