Petrosyan Vs. Siitthichai, who takes it?

Was he really winning the fight against Ristie?

Forgive me, it has been quite a while since I last saw that fight, but my memory was that he was losing it

But then again, my memory is fucked up and should not be trusted

Pretty much what Snubnoze said, he didn't look comfortable but he was still winning on points at the time.

I could have seen Petrosyan picking up the win against a frustrating opponent had he not slipped into a hook, which is totally his fault admittedly.

Really looking forward to this matchup, hard to call the winner.

Nobody makes easy work out of Yod, that's a foolish statement.

Much of Petrosyan's advantage is being a southpaw, which he would lose against Sittichai and Yod. Also take into account he's barely fought since the KO loss to Ristie.

Prime Petro decisions both In KB rules, but in 2015 it can go either way.

Yod is at a big disadvantage against Petro. Slow, looping punches, getting slower with each round. Yods powerful and deliberate, but open to get countered considering his limited head movement. Petro is equally as competent as yod in the clinch. Without elbows Petro has the better inside boxing. Petro may seem like he lost some heat on his punches nowadays, but its still there, especially when the opponent is slow and exposed.

Sittichai is a much better matchup, but I just see this fight as another Petro vs MT stylist fight where we see a conservative Petro win on pointfighting and defense. Sittichai will be the best MT fighter Petro has faced so far and it wont be pretty IMO but he'll win.

Have you been watching Yod's fights?

He's constantly fading and slipping punches. Throwing straight left crosses and doubling up jabs.

Yod is great but he does not slip punches. He gets tagged at short and mid range especially in K1 rules. By lesser strikers than Petrosyan. This range is where he will do damage when countering.

Sittichai on the other hand is more mobile and can dictate the fight range better. This is a good matchup and I would take Petro on points.

Eh, he had his slump a few years back where he was getting tagged a lot, but throughout his career he's always faded/slipped punches it's his primary defense.

were are these k1 rule fights he is getting hit in the face in?

He has had 4 kb rules fights in his career and the 2 he had this year he demolished grigorian and the zuev guy who won the 2014 kun lun tournament. The other 2 fights were back in 06 and he won on the k1 show i japan with a very good showing and the other is a controversial decision to andy sower when souwer was at his best.

Grigorian did tag him a few times, but Yod rarely takes full force punches, even if he gets tagged, he manages to move his head subtly to lessen the impact, that's why one can think that "he gets hit in the face".

Grigorian hit Yod. He couldn't figure out a suitable counter for the southpaw rear kick but when he opened up he connected. Also I don't think Grigorian is much of a counter fighter.

Nagbe also hit Yod. The same Nagbe that couldn't touch Somrak.

And I agree with TonyK its just his style to take some glancing punches to the face. I just don't think he can do that against someone who can counter and is also southpaw.

even pertrosyan take 3 or 4 punches to the face each fight! GO and re watch the 2 kb fights yod has had this year and he looks much better than pertrosyan did against kehl ( and marat beats kehl if they ever fight)

also when nagbe fought old somrak he had only been fighting a little over 2 years and it was the final of a 8man where somrak got a bye into the semi finals
