MMA is a sport which rewards you in your prime but punishes you later in life with CTE and all other kinds of complications . Being from Russia he probably knows a lot of fighters who've faced this when they fought a lot in their 30s.
Hence his aim is to retire young & healthy and by the time he does he'll make enough money to live comfortably in Russia for the rest of his life.

I mean, after you get hit for a living up to 29, and have to recover all of the time, do you really see another 5-10 years of it?

with the outlook of retiring around the corner, you will be less likely to blow through money and stay in a better financial space than someone making more but spending more….even if you do stay fighting longer than anticipated.

Smart guy. Outside of rare cases I dont think most should be fighting past 35. But hes definitely wise to plan to hit his specific goals and get out while his body and brain are intact.
