If by path you mean "have Godly TDD" then yes, that's the path to beating Khamzat, but we already knew that surely? The display of TDD from Yan is just a rare ability very few have.
Khamzat's grappling once it hits the mat is completely different though. With Merab you can just turn your back on him on the ground and stand up - he just doesn't care usually because he'll take you back down and rinse and repeat. What sets the like of Khabib, Islam and Khamzat apart from the other wrestlers in the sport is they're a huge submission threat, elite grapplers once they've got you down, and will take your back if you give it to them.
