Petr Yan--did his performance change your life tonight?

We should assemble the Yan gang, gain.

I want to see him smoke Umar, next, while the Georgian gremlin takes some time off.

I was expecting this to happen, I believed him when he said he was injured. Yan was always better and had the cardio to keep up, in the first fight there was something wrong with him.

Ahh haha okay.

I'd be pumped for the fight just because of the skill level. Good chance of an epic fight between two really elite guys.

Yes, agree. I'm not saying those neckbeards aren't very, very good.

Especially Umar. I'm a huge Sandhagen fan and thought he had a realistic chance vs Umar and while Corey did hang in there, Umar always seemed a half step ahead. That fight really made me a fan of Umar specifically. The way he flows with his grappling is brilliant. But Yan is an absolutely elite scramble-wrestler too, which makes me think their fight could have some awesome scrambling.

I celebrate Yan's losses. He comes across as a very unlikeable human, a piece of shit, if you will.

But he's damn sure one of the best fighters I have ever seen. Turns in an all-time performance. He does everything with purpose, skill and is so instinctive. His natural fighting instinct is on the level of Jon Jones. His well-roundedness is probably in the GOAT conversation. He isn't the best at anything but no other fighter does everything at such a high level, except possibly Islam.

Still, fuck Petr Yan.

Wow really? I don't remember ever seeing a whole lot of personality from him at all (good or bad).

Some snowflakes don't like when a fighter is confident and lives up to his name. You'd think we were watching curling or something.

He certainly never sounds particularly malicious in his comments. Nor am I aware of him being particularly a bad guy in his personal life.

It was truly great to see, but I always believed he could do this.

Still think he beat Aljo the 2nd time, after being down the first half of the fight.

Not sure why people think this is the first time he had to come back and overcome.

He does have some sadism in his fights where he clearly enjoys beating the shit out of people. Especially vs Uriah Faber. So it got some people into their feelings.

To me, if you are a sadist and love violence, then MMA is the right place for you to be.

huge Yan fan - and obviously super happy he won …BUT…. He’s still wayyyy too low volume to hold onto that belt for long - makes all his fights way closer then they need to be

If its good enough to beat Merab, then its good enough to beat anyone probably

it'll do pig

It'll do.

Explain how id love to hear it

You've already heard it and it doesn't bother you. I accept that. Me? I don't root for shitty people no matter how skilled they are: Bones, McGregor, and many more in boxing

I will say this, Yan is not a lowlife criminal. He's just a bully with psychopathic tendencies. He's mean like Roberto Duran. Probably helps make him great. But I don't have to root for him.
