Peter Schiff on Joe Rogan Experience

Prove to me that you've never molested a child.
That is not the same thing.

Jack has made a statement that assumes specific knowledge and proof therefore the burden on him is to substantiate it.

Worth a listen. Makes some points about the economy that should be common sense to most people, but I'm afraid aren't. The economy should be the only thing CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc. cover. The fact that they are busy with some dumb Russian conspiracy rather than the impending collapse of the system is a travesty.

It's not a Russian "conspiracy". We are way, way past the point of proof.

Don't use words if you don't what they mean.

Er, but nothing about the meaning of the word conspiracy has anything to do with whether or not something can be proven?

There isn't a crank that Rogan won't yank.

Lol

I actually do side with some of the dummies here that that is a positive virtue. Rogan is more intelligent than the average person, but is also conscious of the fact that his limitations, so he casts a wide net

Search for "an actual Schiff portfolio."

This is an old issue and was much-discussed. Given that it was a common-knowledge thing, I didn't bother. Then the guy who was asking said it could be Googled, and I asked him if he did, and he indicated that he did and seemed satisfied.

If you were around the WR in 2011-2013 or so, Schiff was talked about as much as Peterson is now (or was a few months ago--seems to be drying out).

I don't think he's above average intellectually (below, imo), but he has notable talents in acting, athletics, comedy and talking/long interviews (in ascending order). Also seems to be an astute father.

His podcast is a clear plus for Earth and humans and whatnot, but good Christ does his dumbfuck ass lead a lot of people astray while giving them a voice. Having a personal conversation with a Rogan-type is actually harmful, it removes time from the end of your life.

I was not saying you were right or wrong.

I was pointing out that @Trotsky does not understand how logic works and what he was saying was wrong.

For instance if I say @Trotsky has never lived in NYC that assumes I KNOW that to be true. I cannot hide behind that with the 'you can't prove a negative argument'. If I do not KNOW it to be true and cannot substantiate it, I should not state it as if true.

The GOAT HW poster had a great post on Rogan. Thread is about Rogan catching a reffing mistake:

http://forums.sherdog.com/posts/129015955/

The key thing about Joe Rogan is that he is a very, very stupid man with the ego and drive of a renaissance polymath. There is absolutely nothing Rogan loves more than the pursuit and application of knowledge, it's just he's as dumb as a box of rocks so it gets boiled down to yelling and telling people that, like, a panther would fuuuuuuck Bruce Lee up, dude. So you gotta cut the dude some slack when an actual grownup does an actual thing wrong and holy shit JOE ROGAN SPOTTED IT! GUYS! A MISTAKE!

It's like insecure stoner manchild Christmas, yo.

It's not a logical issue, but close enough, I guess. I wouldn't make the comment without reason to believe it was true, and reports from clients that have come up in past discussions are the reason.

That podcast legit scared the fuck outta me. I was about to buy myself one of them nice gold cards. Glad I went to sherdog for the truth

That's pretty great lol

But how is a guy w/1400 posts the HW GOAT?

1,400 posts with that account. Kept getting banned for being a past ban when the mods were doing that. Original ban happened because one of his colorful and insightful analyses was read as "bashing" CroCop. That was his original account so seems that the ban was lifted. I think his other ones were lost in the transition.

There's a difference between being able to observe the absence of a phenomenon and being able to prove the absence, you knob.

Look at these big government leeches, who got their PhDs in Physics virtually for free from socialist (non-for-profit) universities, inventing the transistor on the taxpayer's dime, without a profit motive. In a proper capitalist economy they could all be hedge-fund managers or corporate middlemen at Starbucks.

This is worth a watch, don't trouble yourself with the cultural references.

You are definitely overestimating the average human. Rogan is certainly smarter than the median person.

Did about half of your graduating high school class go to college? Okay, now think of the most intellectually unimpressive guy that got into college: that's' your median citizen. That person probably doesn't know if Obama was a Republican or Democrat or, conversely, shares chain forwards on Facebook about the university professor who taught all his students about socialism by giving everyone a C-.

This actually made me feel bad for Rogan.

Here's OT on Brock/Jones and on whatever happened to Ricardo Arona:

Brock Lesnar, so full of chemicals that he had to be kept away from pregnant women and barn animals, just about managed to wrestle an old, short, fat kickboxer. I can't really imagine him managing it against a young, strong, actually-good-at-wrestling dude who is also a dirty as fuck range fighter.

Whenever a Brazilian makes an excuse, a fight goes 30-27 with a single digit strike count or a ridiculously good looking man shows worse striking acumen than literal toddlers, there's Arona. His spirit is all around us, child.

I agree. He seems to be somewhat intellectually curious and tends to defer to people he realizes know more than him.

When left to his own devices though.....
