All drugs change your performance, cause a physiological change in the body, it's the definition.

Who the fuck even draws the line between caffeine and trenbolone? Is it really brilliant scientists and doctors? Or crooked bureaucrats and politicians?

This Jeff Novitzky guy is a goddamn witch hunter. A filthy swine of the government who gets off acting as God. He will go out of his way to ruin every single big UFC card with last second cancellations. Whether you are completely innocent(Machida) or Guilty as Sin(Jones) he doesn't give a fuck about right and wrong, just hanging up as many trophies on the wall as possible.

Excuse me Mr. USADA I think I might have done something outside the guidelines... 2 YEAR BAN!!!!!!!! oh look my drug tests came back clean IDGAF!!!!!! BEG FOR FORGIVENESS LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT -the story of machida n cro cop

"Enhancing" and "changing" aren't the same thing. Dumb thread.

snipped for brevity

You are right TS, "Performance enhancing drugs" is a redundant term.

Youll rarely see it used in any official documents, wada paperwork etc

the official term is "Prohibited Substances" (And) "Prohibited Methods"

(And to be banned substances only need to have "potential to enhance")

(and they dont even need that, they can be prohibited for other reasons)

Someone's testosterone levels are quite high right now.

So earlier today I successfully roasted and ate a chicken.

New thread topic: roasting and/or eating chicken.

The thing with performance enhancing drugs is that there is no effort by the athlete.

Great nutrition requires effort by the athlete.
Great training requires effort by the athlete and his team.
Legal supplements offer substances you could get from regular food.
PED's require no effort by the athlete.Plus many of them are detrimental to the health.

How many fighters are being popped for drugs they're taking to change their performance WITHOUT enhancing it?

Are you fucking retarded?
The drugs that would change their performance without enhancing it aren't tested for out of competition. And for sake of semantics, enhanced performance is changed performance but not all change performance would be enhanced.

Pot doesn't improve your performance. Alcohol doesn't enhance your performance. Steroids do. Most recreational drugs inhibit you.

Dr prescribed predisone steriods for sinus crap. No strength gained, would fail test.

Right, but in a drug test scenario, you're not going to pop somebody for a drug that doesn't enhance their performance.

They're not gonna take drugs that doesn't enhance them in some way or the other unless we're talking about idiots doing cocaine. I understand the semantics but in practice there is no reason to need the words "performance enhancing"

The so called PEDs are within the larger bubble of prohibited substances.

you couldn't be more wrong lmao

Your assumption is that all drugs are performance enhancing, many drugs do the opposite of enhancing your performance. Didn't you every wonder why every drug in the world isn't on the banned list.
