On ufc undisputed I used to go on simulation mode with Machida and play like he fights, staying on the outside and throwing the straight left - it was very satisfying to see people get frustrated and rush in just like they do in real life. Can you play like that on this? Is the ground game that bad too? I cant imagine not being able to counter transitions on the ground, that was one of the best elements of undisputed imo once you got used to the timing.
 
The Ground Game is Great! I just wish they put that type of detail into the striking and the A.I
 
I played all day for a few days.

That game is fucking trash.

Flailing 24/7. Fighters glitch and fall over to every leg kick.

Game is fucking trash. It's incredibly unrealistic. They definitely need to make changes to how often fighters get knocked out. You take too many shots to KO

They reported that is the intent. It is not to be 100% realistic, and a bit more video-gamey. I can't speak for the quality of the game, since I haven't played it, but maybe your expectations are not matching the game's design.
 
it plays like rock em sock em robots. very sluggish striking, ground game is a lot slower than the first game. you can't walk people down and pressure fight like the first game, people can just run away and hold block which forces you to play the clinch game which is very boring in itself. two strikes from the clinch and you knock the guy down, rinse and repeat. not to mention you have people that just pick conor and jon jones and just spam between spinning side kicks and head kicks the whole fight which turns out to be a way more effective strategy that the first game.

a lot of people like it tho - the knock outs do feel more satisfying, the roster is better too, that's about all i can give it credit for over the first game tho

I got very bored of the first one after about a couple of weeks, guessing from this that apart from the roster, the second one is probably not worth a punt?
 
Yea the Xbox 360 owners like me Got the shaft on the EA UFC games and I am not buying an Xbox one just to play that game but I want to play bad

Good. KO's were far to random and frequent in the first game to make it enjoyable for me. Keep in mind I am an older, more casual gamer and I do not do well competitively ie versus.
 
I have over 100 hours in it, easily.

You can get rocked fucking randomly

i had a match today where I got a teep to the body and my character folded over onto the floor and died

Striking is fucking terrible at the lower weights, where people are "pressure fighters" or "volume strikers" (they mash hooks and jabs and randomly change between head and body.)

grappling is not good. It devolves into waiting to block the other persons transition and then transitioning while they are out of energy. it fucking blows chunks compared to undisputed.

Its a fun game but it cant hold a light to undisputed 3 on simulation mode

Undisputed 2/3 much better

I still play Undisputed 3 on occasion. It's really the best MMA card ever made. TS I used to do exactly the same thing as you online with Machida. haha

EA is shit.
 
Yes you can fight how fighters fight(unless you are Chuck Liddell and throw standing side head kicks). The problem is the AI is fucking awful if you play offline. Incredibly cheap and unsatisfying at the high difficulties. And the online is filled with nothing but exploits that people take advantage of. You could be throwing a 1 2 with a kick to the body and your opponent will just do a point blank flying knee from two feet to rock you in the middle of your combo with no consequence. Spinning strikes take priority over everything in this game. And online is basically who can drain whos stamina first to grab a clinch at higher levels. Game is not worth purchasing at the moment until the devs address major problems first

The game is good online. Most of the people complaining about "exploits" are kids that are too scrubby to escape the clinch
 
I played the beta and I loved knocking people out with Hyun Gyu Lim, I didn't explore the ground that much but the clinch is garbage imo
