It has been proven over and over again. You can't tell how good people will do in MMA based on their credentials in other martial arts.

BOAH she's a 500,765x World Champion in Muay Thai!!!! Best striker in the UFC period! She would have beaten RR as well, she'll beat HH blahblah..

The last girl that was promoted as the super-Muay-Thai-champ and the "female Anderson Silva" in that weight class was deRandamie and Nunes mauled her in the first round.
The "olympic medalist" McMann hardly manages to win any fight in the UFC. She also got out-wrestled by Tate, a highschool wrestler.

Olympic wrestler DC got taken down by JBJ.
That tall friend of Ronda, Dukes or something, was supposed to be a kickboxing champion and got knocked out by Leslie Smith who can't win any other fight.

"But she even beat Joanna Jedzzkyztdkk in Muay Thai!"
She beat her when they were 19 or something. Shayna Baszler submitted Sara McMann in a grappling tournament, she got TKOd by Nunes with a fucking leg kick and was cut.

Of course some fighters are able to display their skills from other martial arts but the chance is 50-50 at best.

I think beating Kaufman with sloppy takedowns and lay n pray was rather unimpressive and says more about Kaufman than about Valentina. I also think she'll have her hand full with Nunes today but we'll see..

You are a noob. WAR SHEVCHENKO!

Nunes is going to beat that ass. Straight up buzzsaw though her to the title shot.

That is all.

she dominated Kaufmann for 2 rounds on like a weeks notice...... the girl has serious skills

Female Vitor gonna end this hype train

yeah... but have you seen her ass?

Doesn't make it less exciting. I say Nunes takes it.

Have you thought of writing a novel on this subject

She wouldn't beat Holm or Rousey, she's simply too small for the weight class, she likes to get in the clinch and make it a dog fight and that is where Rousey is the strongest, let's not even go there with Holm because Holm would literally make her look like a 115'er. If there was a 125lbs division Valentina would reign.

I'm a fan of Shevchenko too so I don't like to say this, although I'll admit I'm much more of a Holm fan.

Don't encourage him to start another thread. :D
I thought about a "Tonight will be the first time Ronda Rousey sees herself getting knocked out by Holm" thread, since she will attend the event and said she didn't watch the fight once.
However I went with this one instead.

Shevchenko got speed, accuracy, and tenacity.

Don't count her out of anything just yet.

125 would be perfect for her. She is one of those tweeners. Too small for one weight class and too big for the other. I'm sure she can make 115 if she tried, but it would probably be a very tough cut. She seems like a naturally thick girl. But imagine if she became BW champ and they set up a superfight against Joanna at 125.

She impressed me in her first fight.

It looks like she struggles to make 135 when she's in fight shape, she weighed in at 134lbs yesterday and I wasn't at all surprised, she looks like a good fighter and I think she'll upset Nunes but that's because Nunes also likes a dogfight and her gas tank isn't great. 125lbs is perfect for her.

She beat Kaufman on 8 days notice...that says enough about her skill to show that she is legit and it's not just prior accolades holding her up. Will she win the title? Who knows...but she's done well in her career thus far.

had nothing for nunes until she gassed
