People on this forum seems to underestimate Ciryl way too much...

I agree much of sherdog has a handfetish though they will always love the HW with the most KO power.

I’m not underestimating him at all, he’s a very solid striker. Wish he would load up on his shots abit more but it’s the HW division, one small mistake and it’s nap time.

I too consider him one of the most talented and skilled heavyweights of all time even though he's fighting in a weak era. He could still get KO'd by Ngannou though, anyone could, but I believe Gane is the chosen one.

I think he gets the appropriate hype actually, which is rare on Sherdog.

I definitely don't think he's underestimated on here. Most of Sherdog knows Ciryl is a real problem at HW.

Gane gets the correct amount of hype every great fighter needs some detractors otherwise they become inevitable.

Many hardcore fans don't appear to have watched all of Ganes UFC fights so they have a far more limited insight into his abilities; thats where the disconnect between his fans and detractors stems from.

His head kick game is top notch and he seems to have a lot of confidence in it you wouldn't know that though only watching his last 3 fights.

Cain Valasquez was supposed to be the next Fedor, but he got sidelined by knee injuries and his chin wasn't strong enough. We never know how good someone really is unless they sit on the very top of the heap for awhile.

It seems like I see most people here saying that Gane will win, but many feel the fight will be close. I am one of those that feel it is close, but believe Gane should win. The problem is that Ngannou has gnarly power, and is fairly mobile. Also, Gane ran to reset a few times against Lewis, who is not as mobile as Ngannou. I just see people being cautious because of Ngannou's power. He has a tendency to throw wide, looping, punches, and he seems to have trouble with accuracy when he goes into wildman mode. Great fight. Hard to call, but I think most people are giving Gane the edge.
