125lb, men's division is filled with talented fighters but they will never be draws because of their size. When the average man can look at a professional fighter and think they could kick his ass because he is the size of their kids those fighters are never going to draw big numbers.

I personally don't like the 125lb or 135lb divisions because the fighters are so small. I respect their skills but I have no desire to watch such small guys fight.

Manny Pac is 5'5 i dislike johnson because he is boring not because he is short i enjoy watching little guys like dodson and lineker fight

Unless they change their names to Conor Mcgregor and put on an Irish accent. They will flock like Irish to a bar.

Pretty much ts, and it pains me to say it. My son is a big as these fighters and he's 12.

Most of the 135 pound division weigh more than Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao on fight night.

Considering the biggest star in boxing history is 150 pounds soaking wet, and his biggest rival is 144 pounds wearing boots, it sounds like it's a you thing.

I've been around people who swear they could beat up heavyweights, it has nothing to do with it, just from weird insecure people

I don't think ive even seen a Manlet in real life

People said the same thing about lightweights once upon a time. Then we had fighters like BJ Penn, Sherk, and then Frankie Edgar, Anthony Pettis, Cerrone, etc.

People said the same thing about featherweights and bantamweights. Urijah Faber is arguably one of the most popular fighters in the world, and Conor McGregor IS the most popular fighter in the world.

The flyweights will get more recognition once it's fleshed out.

This horse died a long long time ago.

Let it go.

True, but some people like watching them. I don't get the ts point, does he want the division scrapped? No-one wants that division to headline cards, but it serves a purpose and some fans like it.

Mayweather isn't 125 btw

145 division are average sized men, anything below is basically manlet territory

No one ever said that about lightweights bro. The average lightweight is at least 170lb of solid

I think less people watch the sport now with this "who's the toughest man in the pub" mentality. The success of the women's division are testament to that. I think the problem with it is simply that there is a dominant champion with a safe style. If the belt was changing hands regularly like some of the other divisions I think it'd be more popular. Bantamweight is case in point.

You're a visionary and a maverick, TS. Please share more of your fresh and innovative hot takes with us.

Manny Pac has an exciting personality 5?

People don't like DJ because of his size, it has litttle to do with his personality.

Lol at people posting Floyd. One of the most hated guys on sherdog until he can help your argument

In Mma it's tough to ever see 125 or 135 as a marquee division. Anything is possible

Yes, they did. Bro.

When you grow up, maybe I'll tell you about it.

It's all about the story you tell the fans. For the average fan, skill and competitive match-ups isn't nearly enough, you have to explain why they should care. So far, there hasn't been a really good story at 125/135. Like him or not, Conor provided the first really good story line at 145. Think about it, 145 had the most dominant champion actively fighting for a number of years, but nobody cared until Conor showed up. All that 125/35 needs is a good shit talker with a few impressive fights, and they're on the map.

Pretty sure we been thru this topic many many times. I kind of agree with you TS but it has been covered over and over.
I respect the skill level of the 125/135 ers even though their fights don't really excite me.
