So after viewing Peggy Morgan's fight last night does anyone else think it might behoove her to move up to 155?? I know that it's a fairly new division and all but however, i think it'd benefit her in plenty of ways. It seems as if the cut to 135 exhausts her to the point where she can't even get off good snapping punches or kicks. She literally looked like a zombie at the weigh ins and in the cage last night.

Well, her fighting at 135 is definitely not the right weight. She should at least consider 145...and possibly 155. She`s too slow at 135.

Honest question, she's been training boxing since 2002 it said last now, how the fuck is her striking defense so poor? It has to be the cut affecting her

Roxy, Baszler and countless others have been in MMA for over a decade...

Fair enough but Morgan has been training pure boxing since 2002, many years before she had to considering grappling, it's just inexplicable has poor her defense is.

I have an explanation. Peggy wasn't actually boxing against actual opponents just shadow boxing.

Or like many women she was training with the wrong group that didn't actually teach her because they were too soft on her. Or she was training with lots of short/underskilled boxers which allowed her to just lean back all the time to avoid punches.

Also, saying you've been training in something that long could mean just part-time training or basics revisited from time-to-time. You see that with lower-level fighters all the time.

But I have to imagine the weightcut had to be some level of a factor.

And how would that happen? 125 is Roxy's weightclass now (UFC at 135 maybe but at Invicta she'll likely stay 125lbs). Peggy needs to move up to 145lbs. So.....

nah i think health wise and performance wise 155 will be her best option, it's all a matter of if she chooses to move up or not. I think 145 is even pushing it for her.

Really? Cuz she hit 133.5 at the weigh-in, which means she just was crash-cutting after what was probably a mistimed cut (just educated guess). So I think 10lbs up means that she's right about the proper spot, plus she still gets size advantage to use.

I can understand where you're coming from, however she could still have the size advantage at 155, plus from my personal experience i've always felt my strongest when i've only cut 10-15 pounds as opposed to 20-25 but that's just me, haha.

I've watched Peggy Morgans previous fights and some of it might be the weight cut but the problems she has at 135 are the very same problems she had when fighting at higher weights, lack of coordination, lack of decent striking, no ground game, slow as molasses and just a complete lack of athleticism. Peggy Morgan is not a very good fighter and that won't change no matter what weight she fights at.

I just viewed her previous fights and while there were technical flaws she looked no where near as bad as you made her out to be and also no where near as bad as she's looked at 135. We also have to keep in mind that she's still developing(I know she's kind of old for that at 34). I think she should still give it a go at the higher class to try and get a few wins before thinking about hanging em up.
