Section 4
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

So Congress can impeach the President but can’t actually convict him of anything (because only the Judiciary can do it even though the constitution specifically gives Congress that ability with regards to the President) so it’s impossible to remove the president ever, got it.

Edit:

Man, those Framers really didn’t know how to write a Consitution. That’s a hole you could drive a fat New Yorker in an ill-fitting suit through.

You’re arguing nonsense or trolling. Congress is specifically given the ability to charge the President with crimes and to convict him, and then to remove from office if convicted.

It’s just called impeachment instead of indictment if done by the legislature.

Let's read from the wiki you linked us to earlier.


The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.


The Constitution also allows for involuntary removal from office. The President, Vice-President, Cabinet Secretaries, and other executive officers, as well as judges, may be impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate.

Any official convicted by the Senate is immediately removed from office. The Senate may also choose to bar the removed official from holding any federal office in the future.[43] No other punishments may be inflicted pursuant to the impeachment proceeding, but the convicted party remains liable to trial and punishment in the courts for civil and criminal charges.[44]

Judging by that text, impeachment isn't a criminal charge, but if the Senate does convict and remove from office, then the FORMER President can face criminal charges.

They can charge and convict FOR a crime, we're arguing that they can charge the President WITH a crime. I already said they could convict, it was in the message you quoted before trying to criticize my reading comprehension.

There is a trial, just like if he had been arrested by police.

*edit - BUT it's not a criminal or civil trial. It's only to determine whether or not he should be removed from office. A guity finding does mean he is guilty of the crime(s) he is charged with. He just doesn't have to answer to law enforcement, as he would if they were the ones charging him.
