Costa does not have the ability from close quarters nor the wrestling to trouble Liddell in the slightest. Paulo would get badly banged up.

Chuck had a great three year run. He was destroying everyone he defended the title against, so much so that he had legit heat. Look at his UFC strength of schedule before it all went downhill: Monson, Randleman, Mezger, Bustamante (an underrated fighter), Belfort, Sobral, Couture, Overeem, Ortiz, Rampage, Wanderlei… I could go on, but you get the picture. Transport prime Chuck to now, with modern training and less trauma, and I think he does good. Put Costa against any of those names.
