He might also think it's a tougher fight. He already made a big deal about not accepting it before. He may think Chimaev is an easier fight, but will get him more attention. He also already has talked a lot of shit to Khamzat and not to Whittaker, so there's that ego and internet rep involved. And that attention will also bring him closer to a TS, even though Khamzat isn't ranked.
