Paul VS Floyd showed P4P is a nerd myth that doesn't exist in real life

Floyd won against Big Show what the hell are you talking about TS? he could've easily slept Logan under 4.

This is why P4P rankings are shit. The best fighters are guys like Stipe, DC, Francis, Derrick Lewis....ect...ect. Its a joke to think Manlets like Kabob, and the lower weight class fighters i can''t even be bothered to remember their names are considered P4P goats. LOL

Paul can not even box or fight and he went the distance with Floyd without getting hurt once.

We saw the same shit when Anthony Smith failed to incapacitate a drugged up WW home intruder. Meanwhile Derrick Lewis nearly killed a man for tryna carjack him.

At the end of the day P4P Usman, Max, Yan etc. would get turned into a pretzel by the likes of Francis, Volkov, Stipe etc.
You realize why there is a P4P list though right? No one in the right mind thinks Fig for instance would survive against Ngannou. Serious question, how high are you right now?

Umm dude, P4P is a hypothetical idea
about who would be the best fighter if they were all the same size. If someone says that Khabib is P4P #1 they don't mean he could actually beat Ngannou, they mean they think that he could beat him if they both weighed the same.

^^^^^^^This

This lmao

dudes used to say Allen Iverson is the P4P best basketball player b/c they knew he couldnt touch Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, TMac, KG, Dirk etc. Size matters.

Its a bizarre concept in basketball tbh, but in combat sport it makes total sense.

People who think p4p means a lightweight could beat up a heavyweight are the idiots. That’s not what p4p has ever meant.

Actually amazed that so many people on a fight forum have no idea what the idea of p4p actually means.

It based on ‘achievements’ primarily.

just realizing this is a solid troll thread that I previously responded to with a serious response.

props TS.

Yes. The heavyweights would beat all the small guys. Who the fuck just wants to watch big guys though. Most of the most entertaining fights have been normal sized people.

It depends on the fighter. Not all fighters are the same and have the same strengths. Just like in HW not every HW fighter is a KO artist. Fighters like Pacquaio and Canelo prove that smaller fighters with certain strengths can fight bigger fighters and do well and even KO/TKO them. Other examples in mma and kickboxing as well. It depends more on the fighters strengths, Floyd was never viewed as a KO artist even in his weight class. He's not suddenly going to be one vs Logan Paul who was a HW during their fight.

Logan Paul has a HW frame and can take HW damage. People are surprised he didn't finish him, when people that understand their styles and strengths saw this going all 8 rounds with Floyd winning exactly the way he did. Logan Paul would eventually fade as the rounds progressed and Floyd would turn it up in moments but still play it safe like he always does. He focuses on minimizing damage. That's why he used the high guard most of the fight and walked him down just like he did Conor. They don't know how to attack vs high guard defense so Floyd just walks into range. Logan was tired and didn't know how to get through his high guard defense so he started clinching instead. Fight pretty much went down how I pictured it going.

Skill, athleticism and division depth peaks around 135-170. Sure HWs would beat the shit out of those guys due to size, strength and power but they're generally not as good technically and in relative terms their level of competition is worse. Hence P4P.

The 35 pounds helped him take those shots. Only thing why he made it the distance.

It almost always favors the little guys because usually when they mean same size, they think the hw is going to be slow and plodding while a 280 jose aldo will still move like a fw but with hw power.

Yes, Weight classes exist for a reason. Thank you for stating the obvious.

Secondly, Paul vs Floyd was only slightly better scripted the Floyd vs Tenshin. Good for them.

Don't let the lack of KO distract you from a fact that Logan just spent 90% of the night punching air against a guy 18 years older and 50 pounds lighter, despite all that hard training for the last 3 years.

Floyd still dominated the boxing though. Boxing matches normally have judges.
