Movies Paul Thomas Anderson's ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER Starring Leonardo DiCaprio (Official Trailer)

My trust in PTA has waned over the years. We'll see, but I'm expecting another meandering, disjointed, incomprehensible mess of a movie with some good performances, that will be praised and defended as "art" that you just "don't get", by others who can't explain why it's good.

You'll go for all the good stuff in the trailers. You'll leave wondering what the fuck you just watched. It's all been downhill since TWBB.

Looks bad, man and is probably going to bomb at the box office

This has a $140 million budget. Very easy for it to bomb
yeah, i forgot how big the budget was. sheesh. that budget is more than the budgets of his last four films combined. add in TWBB’s budget to that total & it’s only barely more than $140m

Leo’s star power might be able to carry it to at least $80m though

I rewatched it after people on here were raving about it, god it was boring and too long. The only part that sticks in my mind was when the main character said he loved to see other people fail, that was about the most true to life thing I've ever seen in film in terms of my experience, something, an admission none of us like to admit but we all feel on some level, no one wants to put something like that into words. Outside of that? I didn't get it.

I remember watching it in theaters, I was a bit of a pretentious movie nerd back then but I couldn't even begin to pretend I enjoyed it. I liked some parts and themes but the movie as a whole it was just boring.

Looks like some good fun that doesn't take itself too seriously. Love it!!!

Wow! Does that look like a FLAMING PIECE OF SHIT or what?

I watched the preview trailer and actually got excited thinking maybe Leo would stop playing the same Jordan Belfort character for the first time since that movie came out. Nope, same old screaming Leo, just with a different clothes and haircut.

Big surprise, it's woke too. And did Benicio did the same cringey scene he did in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie? Hard pass.

Leo is Leo in virtually every role. People praise the shit out of him but hes nothing extraordinary tbh.

I was driving in midtown Sac when they were doing filming there. People were saying Leo was around. Not sure if the whole movie was filmed in Sacramento. I thought that was cool though.

I can’t say the preview looks like a good movie. PTA has been on kind of a pretentious losing streak since(or starting with) Inherent Vice

but it has my curiosity…let’s see if the reviews can get my attention 😉
