Economy Party of less government spending wants 1.5 trillion military budget

This is a threat to democracy and freedom worldwide. We need to increase our investments in defense and build more nukes to contain the tyrannical USA threat.
 
This is a problem. Military spending has all sorts of areas we need to address for cuts.
  • Redundant programs
  • programs that the military doesn't even want, but Congress votes for to their members' benefits
  • massive excesses (not on personnel, but again on weapon systems)
  • ship maintenance and builds because retired admirals want to profit, and they don't follow any decent Project Controls

I really don't want to hear about increased spending until these massive billions in unneeded spending are dealt with. This is a failure by the Trump administration.

You know DOGE was a joke when they didn't immediately start snooping around the military, and instead started getting their panties in a twist about unused copies of MS Office.

Guess we're gonna be doing a lot of war.

Before we declare war on everyone we should probably consider on passing a financial audit and do some tidying up first.

I disagree.

I have seen 23% cuts in the U.S. Department of Energy alone. They had so many worthless bureaucrats, and they turned calculations for things like Earned Value (CPI and SPI) for contracts into disciplines when it could all be completely automated. They would put 60 people on shit that my team could do with 2 and then have it automated forevermore. They would fight us every time we brought up private industry best practices that they could easily adopt, because it meant operational efficiency.

I will agree that DOGE failed us at the Pentagon. I would like to see Elon's team focus on that exclusively for all of 2026.
 
With all the Somali and other medical Medicaid fraud being discovered of late, paying for more military might become a reality. That does seem to be the thing to do of late. Europe is spending lots more on military. I believe Japan is too. China is big on military spending, and threatening their neighbors. Hate to see that. I like the Chinese people but their government is terrible. I always figured a good size American military is good at keeping the peace, and good for keeping world trade going.
