Makes me sick Luke saying "underestimated " bisping. Luke was throwing hard kicks and got beat by the more technical fighter standing. Saying anything else is ridiculous. Unbelievable.

Kinda a cop out but looked true.

I think he takes him 9 of 10

Well, you know Luke is like Trump, he talks and doesn't think! He just says whatever makes him feel good about himself because he is his own biggest fan!lol

I agree. Some fighters weakness might be their takedown defence, others may leave themselves open to KO's because they feel over confident.

100% agree

once you say you underestimated someone you proved you do not have what it takes to be a true champion

fucking go hard

Luke really did not take Mike seriously. Luke was lacking that GSP level of seriousness and he paid the ultimate price!

Luke, the Iceman, A.Silva, Vitor and many more always have the best excuses and their favorite is,"I got caught!"
Instead of saying,"He outboxed me, or out fought me."

Luke is a prick by most standards. He made me a Bisping fan and Bisping can be a real ass most of the time.

There's no such thing as "underestimating" an opponent. That's a made up excuse for losers.

Bisping did great the whole fight its not like he got one lucky shot. He was landing the better shots the entire fight imo. If they fight again id think the odds would be real close and i think bisping has a good chance of coming out of the rubber match on top

Luke was not and will never be a "great champ". Flash in the pan as far as I'm concerned.

I thought Rockhold was doing what he does best. Landing great kicks and controlling the fight

He only lost when he tried to punch, a MUCH better boxer

Part of what makes a great champion is accepting fear and accepting they can lose. GSP openly admits he is afraid and I believe that's what pushed him to never underestimate his opponents.

Really really good insight here.

I recall thinking that durring their back and forths.

Rockhold, Conor & Ronda never accepted the opponents they faced as a challenge. With quotes like "there not on my level" " I can beat anyone in my division with one hand" "they can't handle the left hand they all crumble" it's not a surprise they all loss without a proper reign aside from Honda.

Watching UFC Primetimes, GSP showed why he held a proper reign. Never trashed talked anyone & accepted his weaknesses and his opponents strengths so he could properly train. Even Mayweather as much as he is a cocky arrogant fighter he has never taken anyone for granted.

More champions and fighters should be real to themselves, but in the end I guess Rockhold was being real to himself and Bisping made it even realer with that KO.

Underestimating an opponent is usually the result of having a massive ego. That doesn't sound like Luke at all
