I used to have a Doberman and that bitch was mean as fvckI'd stay away from Dobermans. Im not an expert, but it seems they have a genetic flaw that makes their brain grow more than their skull. So they start to get crazy after a while.
i have a College friend that had to put down 2 dobermans his family had guarding a piece of land they own, cause they wouldn't recognize anyone anymore and just be frenzied 24/7.
I missed this post, but i was attacked by a rot. My own. Got home late at night, it was dark, he came without making a noise and bit me. When i yelled he bolted. Yes, my rot was retarded.- Rots are far bigger, more powerful. But pits populations far outnumber them.
And they're wrong. Even with empiric data, i never knew someone attacked by a rot. I grew with one from my uncle, and my cousing had two.
- He didnt recognize you. If it's was another dog, would maul you.I missed this post, but i was attacked by a rot. My own. Got home late at night, it was dark, he came without making a noise and bit me. When i yelled he bolted. Yes, my rot was retarded.
- And they lost. Because they're the overcompesating jobbers of the canine world?I've seen them fight Rottweilers but I guess it depends on the situation![]()

The thing is, a dog attack is in and of itself rare, regardless of the species. So even 99% of pits will likely never have an issue. Theres even breeds that are more likely to bite than pits. The horror stories just don't match my experiences with the dogs. I have one and he's a good dog and hasn't given me any cause for concern. Hed be gone in an instant if he did. I'm white trash and have been around tons of them and almost all of them were good boys.
I feel like anything can be dangerous but it doesn't always have to be and most things are a case by case basis. I feel like a lot of common things no one thinks twice about are statistically way more dangerous.
Like with your car and the breaks ....any car can have any number of catastrophic failures and even though your car is the most likely thing you do every day that might lead to your death no one calls to ban them or is entertaining the idea of not driving
I love my damn dog. And I'm a hound kind of person and was not in the market for him at all but he needed a home. Not cuz he did anything bad but because he couldn't live in an apartment in a cage all day so I took him in so that he didnt end up in the pound. I'm aware that he's big and powerful. But he's also well behaved and hasn't shown me any cause for concern. And I'm not immune to the pitbull hysteria I watch him like a hawk for any signs that he's the monster people say he is.
The pitbull thing just seems like over blown hysteria to me and it doesn't quite line up with what I've seen first hand. As you said it's rare. It's like school shootings ....the media loves that shit and so it gets a ton of play and I think it's lead people to think it's a much bigger problem than it is.
And this is why I wish I had that one piece of information we never ever get ...was the dog that attacked a person showing signs of it long before it happened or is it really just a random thing pitbulls just do. I suspect the warning signs were there in almost every case but I can't prove it. Some dogs are just bad. But most of the time bad dogs are created.
I just honestly don't think they are that dangerous I'm not posting in bad faith or being facetious but it is personal to me due to having one.
Not trying to argue, but just throwing out an interesting article I read. Drone footage has sort of upended thinking of how often sharks are close to people in the water. It shows time and time again that sharks can be actually seen in the viciinity of surfers/swimmers without incident. So that doesnt even count the times that they are nearby without showing up on drone footage.Sure, but there are far fewer people in the ocean than there is on land, and very few people will ever interact with a shark, knowingly or unknowingly. Sharks mind their business for the most part. It's not a good comparison. The domestic animal argument works just fine. Pits do seem to hold the title for fatal domestic animal attacks.
I remember an absolute nightmare situation, where I took my daughter to her friends house, and two doberman's jumped all over me......... they were friendly, but shiet, my life flashed before me, some big ol dogs, scary looking too. Most of the doberman's I've encountered have been unsually friendly, likely because of the owners, although I doubt those dogs are naturally friendly. Old man around here has a pair of the tamest dobermans I've seen, they dont even barkI used to have a Doberman and that bitch was mean as fvck

I guess the it's the owners and not the breed.........I remember an absolute nightmare situation, where I took my daughter to her friends house, and two doberman's jumped all over me......... they were friendly, but shiet, my life flashed before me, some big ol dogs, scary looking too. If you see this face, you may try to run, but you're doomed already.
I dont know why, but when I was kid my street had multiple houses with these mofos. For some reason they were in vogue, since I dont see as many nowadays. Every morning walking to school the devil spawns would bark non stop all the way like there's no tomorrow. You guys talk about pitbulls, but no one ever talks about the most dangerous breed that ever lived: Pinschers.

Same here, there was one in my street that bit everything that moved and humped everything that didn't move. Satan spawn, i'll tell you.I dont know why, but when I was kid my street had multiple houses with these mofos. For some reason they were in vogue, since I dont see as many nowadays. I developed a primal hatred for ratlike dogs.
I devele
Before pits, they were the big bads being targeted in a "dangerous breed" campaign. Might have something to do with it.I dont know why, but when I was kid my street had multiple houses with these mofos. For some reason they were in vogue, since I dont see as many nowadays.
I don’t understand why the pro-gun community who recognizes that issue is not an object but a people, doesn’t also understand that the behavior of a highly trainable animal is similarly the product of people and not the trainable animal.
the dog breed is illegal in Miami cause the humans were so stupid in their handling of these creatures, yet they all have guns. And everyday is a cinematic murder spree car chase on i95
If anything there should be a standardized application for ownership license and standardized practice of training once owned.
They’re great dogs
They were when I lived there in 2013 with my own pitbull, which was acquired due to a former asshole roommate abandoning him with me.Are they still illegal in Miami-Dade? I went to the Miami zoo about a month ago and they had a bus of dogs to adopt. I swear all of them were pitbulls.
I moved from Miami to Broward when I started having kids for better schools, and I swear, Broward is the fucking pitbull capital of the world.
Some dude in our community would walk both his pitbull and rotty without leashes, his excuse was he had some electeic collar he could shock them if needed, pissed off everyone because of it. Thankfully he ended up getting arrested for some domestic shit and they ended up moving shortly after. Prior to that, I was thinking off calling the cops on him cause his dogs would come right up to my garage, which I often have open cause I workout there, paint, etc.
