if you have a large dog and it bites your children, live with the consequences.
A few weeks back, a lady and her kids were casually loading her car with a black lab, it was a "non aggressive" dog, however it was indeed sizeable. I was minding my business, walking, exercising in the morning, and their lab jet from the house all the way to the streets to catch me. I thought running behind a bush would help me, damn dog jumped right through the bush and bit my back.
The owner panicked, assured me that "it's never happened before", and I'm a sherdogger made of steel or could be the puffer jacket that saved me, not happy that my jacket is ripped, not happy about dogs..... you gotta big dog and it turns on your kids, it's game over..... if you have a kid, you've got enough responsibilities, why add dog to the mix? I guess some are preexisting, but still, kid or dog makes a whole lot of sense. Seems like the pit and other aggressive dogs are gaining traction, and I find it an appalling trend.
Labs usually aren't aggressive, that is odd.. playful yes but biting/aggressive to humans is not normal. It sounds like it was just poorly trained/disciplined by the owner.
Labs are inherently less dangerous than pit bulls.. pit bulls were literally bred to fight and kill.. Labs were bred to listen to humans. It's why they are often working dogs along with shepherds and golden retrievers.
