Is this the end of Palhares hype as a top WW? I remember guys who said he can contend for the UFC title if not for his bad habits of holding off the subs for too long.
Edit: Or is he off the juice? I noticed he weighted less than usual.

He is absolutely one-dimensional.

BUT - If he gets ahold of your leg or foot, you are fucked 6 ways from sunday, unless you are Alan Belcher, or someone who has ultra slick defense.

They checked Nate's leg, he wasn't ultra-slick.

Early stoppage though. The ref should've let Emil punch him some more.

It's hard to say with this type of quick KO. Getting caught with an elbow to the side of the head on a td attempt is not that common, considering how often people go for them.

This wasn't a case of Palhares being technically shut down and KO'ed. It was a quick KO off an elbow.

Paul Harris didn't do well back in his prime when he was in the UFC. He certainly hasn't improved

Yeah, but every little bit counts
when you're at the tail end of
your career. It's like head trauma
& the fortitude of your skull &or
equilibrium becomes exponentially
problematic later in your career
as one begins to incur more
& more KO's. & It isn't as though
Palhares has a notoriously strong
chin or anything. The guy tends
to shell up pretty quickly.

Emil should get scooped up by the UFC any day now.

After his last four wins, even through nefarious means, I didnt expect him to lose like this. I watched the clip and it was kind of flukish and too quick to say much about it.

belcher brought in davo ramos dean lister and diego moraes top level black belts with great leg lock knowledge for his fight with paul harris anyways losing one fight doesnt mean you are over you guys dont understand how easy it is to have a off day a slip up and its over a fight can be over in a second all the sudden you have to go out there guns blazing before even getting warmed up with who your fighting

I remember that it happened, but I don't remember how it looked... Gif?
so I just looked up the gif and man I take it back in terms of the end of the fight. I know for a fact he rocked him with an elbow defending the takedown ala travis browne but he got DQed for going wild with hammerfists that caught the back of Cote's head. Cote was essentially out and grabbing for a takedown and Sakara was just going full bug smash. I still think it was a horrible DQ as Cote was moving where the back of his head was, it wasn't like Sakara was targeting it. http://www.mma-core.com/gifs/Alessi...Cote_on_the_Back_of_the_Head_UFC_154/10002498 (I have no idea how to post a gif sorry)

Belcher, Hendo, Lombard all kicked this idiots ass. Never heard of the guy he lost to.

Not sure if serious. That DQ is one of the most blatant examples of intentional back of the head punches. Sahara didn't even try to make them legal.
