Pakistan: Imran Khan says US 'martyred' Osama bin Laden

The Pakistani PM has said that the US "martyred" bin Laden after its 2011 raid. Khan was critical of his predecessors' relationship with Washington and rued Islamabad's decision to partner the US in the war on terror.

You only use the term "Martyr" if you sympathize with the agenda / ideology of the deceased.

However, opposition lawmaker Khwaja Mohammed Asif slammed Khan for calling bin Laden a martyr, saying the al-Qaida chief had brought terrorism to Pakistan. "He (bin Laden) ruined my country but he (Khan) is calling him a martyr,'' Asif said.

So Mohamned Asif slammed the Khan?

I know. He definitely didn't. I saw a video by some guy on youtube who said it was actually an inside job. There weren't even planes - they were just holograms. And it's all part of the plan to turn humans into batteries. And who is behind it? The Rothchilds. And no, that is not a band (I used to think it was a band too). I don't think that's relevant. The 300 Spartans were killed in an armed battle, as were the Waco folks, as were the Alamo defenders. If anything, the fact that he went down guns blazing adds to the lore more than if he were tried and executed.

I mean he went down cowering behind a woman right? He didn't really fight, only one guard did anything. The Spartans died for a cause and did so bravely. Osama died with more porn than a sherdogger. It wasn't brave, it wasn't poetic. I don't think there was anything of note. Nothing would say he died a martyr.
Like Hannibal, he was tracked down and killed. No one thinks of Hannibal as a martyr is how he died. As it just was. Something has to happen to make it notable. And nothing besides Pakistan covering for him, made Osamas death notable

That's bad editorializing. Bad people can be made martyrs by objective standards so long as there are any people sympathetic to their cause. That Waco nut job comes to mind. I don't sympathize with his ideology, but he was definitely made a martyr, as evidenced by other persons killing in his memory.

In that part of the world "Martyr" is only used to refer to someone considered a hero , someone fighting a just a cause. It is a word with strong religious conontations. Khan has always been pro Taleban.
