Hot Take Paddy looked AWFUL and completely outclassed

I'd say offensively Paddy is solid. Can hang with almost anybody in the division Imo. What he lacks is defense and counter punching under pressure. He seems to crumble very fast if he's getting out worked. Jared Gordon situation all over again. Also he abandoned his ground game almost completely. I bet he could've taken a tired Gathje down if he really believed in himself.

And what I saw from Justin is exactly what most people expected. Far, far from his prime. A singular game plan. The dude just slowly plodded forward and threw hilariously slow ass punches that seemed to land.

Justin turning into Dan Henderson.

Head down, double step, swing that overhand.

Never for the fucking life of me understood the hype of this guy. That defense is some of the worst I've ever seen.

Sherdog idiots once again fell for a hype job plant who's best wins are old men matched up specifically to make him look good.

It's not really that, he's just at the right time right place to make waves because indeed, all the good fighters who would have smoked him are worn out now. It happens sometimes in divisions. He still is one of the best in the world, we can't undo that because most of the good fighters are now old. Justin from just a few years ago would have gotten the finish last night. Today he still has just enough to beat Pad.

I hope he doesn't turn out as another Till. I would say, getting favourable decisions and treatment doesn't help in the end.
Paddy has serious heart, decent cardio and resilience. A big dude at the weight.
If he lost to Gordon, he could have concentrated on his head movement, feints etc. He looks like a club fighter at times.
He's 31 now, I know other fighters evolve at that age but not to the extent Pimplett needs to. Should spend 6 months or so having his fuck knocked in at boxing or kick boxing ring.

Paddy finally met a top level fighter (even though Gaethje is definitely past his prime) and it showed

Gaethje fought like a moron and still won pretty easily winging bombs and plodding forwards

That said Paddy definitely proved he has a chin and a decent gas tank I’d say

They both looked like hot garbage. Wild strikes, sloppy movements, arm punches. Just junk. LOL @ claiming MMA has evolved.

The whole card was pretty fucking terrible if anybody wants to be honest with themselves.

Paddy looked tired on the very first seconds of the first round. I think that this time the weight cut got the best of him, way before Gaethje .

That was an awesome fight by both fighters.

Respect to both tough as nails.

Saying Paddy is shite is retarded ..

But its 2026 and the world is mostly retarded now anyways so all is normal.

Personality goes a long way for us Sherdoggers

Justin still has it...paddy he's top 10-15 at best right now.

He got hit in the solar plexus early on.

You should try it sometime.
See how you get on.

His conditioning is fine.

Dude can't strike and his grappling is not high level.

People just talked up his grappling because he used it to dominate washed up cans in a row like Green, Tony, and Chandler lol. He got outgrappled completely by Gordon who is not even a top 15 level fighter.

He's nowhere near an elite fighter in the UFC.
well said.

The first time he faced a truly game opponent he folded and was outclassed. This is why Dana White privilege is never good in the end.

Umm, both guys looked terrible. Fun fight but sloppy and amateurish looking. Justin regressed to his old self and looked past his prime athletically, while Paddy just looked really technically deficient in his striking.

Paddy proved that he really needs to change camps. His game plan was garbage and his corner was useless. He's stuck with the camp that got him started and it was fine on his way up, but he's been fighting MMA for well over a decade, has hit and crept past his athletic peak, and hit a wall, and now he needs better coaches and sparring partners if he's going to have any chance to get better in his 30s.
