Conditioning looked terrible. REAL bad. That's the worst I've ever seen his conditioning look. He looked slow. He still can't learn to keep his chin down. He needs a tennis ball under his chin. His striking was even sloppier than it's normal sloppiness (didn't even think that was even possible). Terrible fight IQ too. When it was apparent he couldn't match his standup, he should've went for more level changes but still chose to stand.
Lmfao. You bet the house on this fight? You u seem really confident.I tried to tell them for months now![]()
Yes, I was impressed with both of their conditioning, despite the sloppiness of the fight. It's not easy to go at that pace, take that much damage, and throw so many wild strikes, flying knees, etc. and survive 5 rounds. I'd say conditioning was his second best strength in that fight, behind toughness. His conditioning is fine.
No, but I was one of the 38% of people picking Gaethje, haven't bet on fights since the scandal involving fight fixing in the UFC.Lmfao. You bet the house on this fight? You u seem really confident.
Paddy has amazing grappling and great striking everything else he does is ass...
Head movement sucks defence sucks...
He couldn't get gaethje down...
He wasn't going to win on the feet but my gosh his head is made of titanium and diamonds.
Getting kicked in the solar plexus and poked in the eye will do that to you.Conditioning looked terrible. REAL bad. That's the worst I've ever seen his conditioning look. He looked slow. Yea, people are really going too far with the exaggerations of how bad he looked. Paddy gave justin a tough fight and landed a lot.His striking was mixed
On the one hand, it was very sloppy at times, especially that overhand right, one of the worst ive ever seen.
But then hed have moments where he'd throw nice jabs, left hooks, even a straight right with good form when thrown in a combination.
He would have moments as well where he slipped / rolled and moved his head very well, very defensively responsible, then other moments where he'd be sloppy and let low hanging fruit punches get through.
Bit of a mixed bag of everything.
Overall, considering its his 2nd big fight at the highest level, it wasn't too bad though.
Standing 5 rounds with Gaethje and holding his own is impressive in itself. Especially since most expected him to have his success in the grappling.
If he continues improving, and is able to stabilize / tap into that more technical and defensively sound version of himself on a more consistent basis, he's still someone to watch as a future contender.
