News P.Diddy only got 4 years?!?!

pretty much, sounded like bullshit. Made me give a bit of credence t the conspiracy theory that the trial was used as a distraction from politics. But.., Diddy is black and as much as some people never want to admit, that factors into anything American. In fact, the Mann act was created to prosecute Jack Johnson for his affinity for white women, a trumped up charge if there ever was one but unironically, Chuck Berry and MJ both had to deal with that law in the courts.

Diddy probably did a lot worse if the rumors are true than shipping in pussy or dick, word was kids were involved. If they really wanted to ruin his life they maybe could have went after him for that if there was truth to it.

Anytime I hear about the Mann Act it always reminds me of one of my all time favorite movie scenes

Not all the time, not all the time. I think this case was ridiculous. I also think Mike Tyson's case was very unfavorable towards him, not saying he didn't do it, I really don't know but they made sure they fucked him.

Also, having known so many black males who ended up picking up felonies in their teens for shit that most white kids would get a slap on the wrist for tells me different. Then, we had the drug laws etc..,

Diddy is an asshole but there are millions of those, the case didn't really sound that substantial. I'm no lawyer but most of the case sounded like bullshit.

I recently watched another OJ docu, and this maniac got off mainly because of how corrupt the pd is and in particular by the words out of the mouth of Fuhrman who wanted some sort of pension so he could quit because he hated other races so much.

The law itself is paradoxical, you'll have all these people on one side who say, "why'd they only give him probation" and on the other, "we have the highest rates of incarceration in the world" Judge Joe Brown has said many times that the law isn't even about justice at all, that prisons are merely like grain silos, places to store surplus labor.

He got off because the black jurors chose to let a black murderer free out of racism. The rest is fairly accurate, but putting the blame of that injustice on anyone and anything else is outrageous.

Sure, that was a big part of it, but OJ"s crackerjack team worked overtime, blood with preservative in it? Furhmans own impeached testimony. Then, more than anything is the plain fact that that community had been getting abused by the law since they migrated from the south.

Some smart people really do think to this day OJ didn't do it, mind boggling. I always wonder how his kids put all that together and still had a relationship with him.

Plus Marcia Clarke's horrific hairdo didnt do them any favors with that jury either

Or the brother on the other side, Darden. Black people knew what they were trying to pull. They fucked the case up themselves, the gloves etc.., Again, amazingly, some very smart people think he didn't do it and some drug dealers did. Henry Lee, who helped OJ's side for what I hear was enough dough to pay for a new lab, pointed to OJ's son.

The law is crazy, it's like all those experts really are up for the highest bidder and it's truly disappointing in a lot of ways. The coroner, Michael Baden, who I loved his analysis on the HBO series, but come to find out, he helped Phil Spektor almost get off for murder and come to find out, his wife happened to be on Phil's team too, not a coincidence. What good is expert testimony if it's for sale? And it also makes me question my own judgement of character as well as my own brains, was Michael Baden telling the truth? The woman committed suicide? He's smarter than me, I know that much.

Factor in time served and “good behavior” I bet he’s out in about 2 years. It truly is a slap on the wrist. The sooner he’s out the quicker he can fuck up again though.

I'm hearing different things about that, someone said federal time usually ends up with 85 percent time served. Just a poster, I know little about it. He already got a year and his career is probably over along with his rep. Just like Cosby, you don't see Cosby on tour or TV do you? At least they have money.

Christopher Darden is a defense attorney now and he was representing the guy that killed Nipsey Hussle but then he dropped out after he was getting death threats, he just cant win LoL

He's from my home county so news about him still pops up in the local papers and stuff

I dont think his career is over like Cosby, Cosby is a broken down blind old man, he doesnt have the energy and drive to fight anymore

Diddy may be in his 50's but he's still a mover and shaker, was still on top before this and still has the drive and desire to get it all back, say what you will about him but no one can deny that dude was been a nonstop hustler his whole public life, which is how he rose from a coffee boy to a king of an empire

He may never be what he once was, that horrific Cassie video will always be around, but Chris Brown beat the fuck out of Rihanna and he's still selling out arenas all over the world

I think Diddy will regain his momentum, at least in certain circles

Seems like a genuinely nice guy, don't know about his lawyer skills.

One thing that everyone involved in the case, they seemed to leach off the high profile nature of it in one way or another. How many books got written by all those guys? Even people who weren't involved at all like Norm Mcdonald had what looks to me, irrational feelings about the case. I knew a guy who insisted that it "set back race relations 30 years" schoolteacher this guy was, and I heard him refer to a cantankerous student with the N-word. It's always america, I don't think we'll ever make it to post-racial anything, I think our society will end before we get there.

Maybe, 57 or however old he is is an old age to start over again, you never know. Some guys like Don King had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at them and they still overcame and became millionaires, as I said in either this thread or another, some people seem to have some supernatural power over others. I say that because it ain't always hustling or hard work, I've known some bastards that just have me scratching my head.

However, I've known some guys who's character issues caught up to them and left them broke and friendless. Good idea to be humble and kind because no one knows when shit will turn out bad and just cause someone can abuse their power today, don't mean they can tomorrow.

It even made Judge Ito a celebrity for 15 minutes, I still remember the criticisms of him and the way he was playing for the camera during the trial

Who can forget the Dancing Ito's on the Tonight Show

He was, he absolutely was. He had documentaries at the time interviewing him, it seemed to go to everyone's head and seem to overshadow the actual tragedy that two humans were violently murdered. The whole thing was a circus, comedians joked about it, everyone took their pound of flesh and the nation seemed fixated.
