Overeem versus Arlovski feels like Overeem versus Bigfoot.

Arlovski like Bigfoot seems mad at Reem, Reem doesn't seem to care all that much. This indifference, is weird, could work for you and it could work against you. If Jackson was cornering Reem, I could not see him lose this fight, now I am not too certain. Versus Bigfoot I couldn't see Overeem lose and he did, no fighting IQ and blowing up his gastank. Will he fight smarter now?

The thing that bothers me most is that the two most important Jackson coaches are behind Arlovski. At first I really favored Overeem, but now, I"m not too sure. Smartest way for Reem to fight is to take Arlovski to the ground, like he did Struve. One thing is for sure, Arlovski will have more information on Overeems weaknesses than the other way around. Could really work against Reem. This fight looks to be a coin toss. Another thing to add is, will Overeem fight smart? Jackson made him fight smart and safe.

I like both fighters but I want to see Reem fight for the title at least once.

By the way, there has been talk about Overeem asking for this fight. Reem denied this, Arlovski said this is the truth. Who has more too gain from this fight? Arlovski coming off of a first round KO loss, while Overeem is on a 3 fighting winning streak and 1 fight away from the titleshot. If Arlovski beats Overeem I think he's just 1 high profile fight away from another titleshot. So this fight makes more sense for Arlovski than Overeem. Just like the Rothwell versus JDS (coming off of a loss) didn't make sense or Cain fighting Travis Browne. The last fight I hope Cain destoyes the wifebeaters though, I'll enjoy that.

Herb Dean's the man.

Interesting point about the coaching, I hadn't really considered that

They're both very chinny, it's hard to predict who goes to sleep
But one of them will for sure

Overeem has bad chin, but Arlovski has it even worse.

Travis Browne is definitely a giant douchebag but he's not a wife beater. That's a bullshit accusation to throw around.

I favor Reem in the clinch and on the ground or even in a long, technical fight but I also give AA a decent chance if they have a fast shootout.

Both have poor chins and Arlovski is one of the hardest punchers ever in MMA, so while I'm favoring Reem, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Andrei wins.

Interesting view point TS, very well said.

It will be extremely interesting to see how the coaches are between rounds. Of course you'd expect them to coach fervently as they would for any other fight, but I wonder if they'll be a bit more laid back in terms of strategy.

I know that may sound unlikely and weird - but they've all got to see each other down the gym in 2 weeks time, a little harsh if they are being overly enthusiastic or aggressive in their advice etc.

Very tough spot for the coaches.

I get the impression that these 2 guys don't get along, they seem very cold to each other.

I have Overeem in this one, and I totally agree that he should try and take Andrei down, I think Overeem is more chinny that Andrei (and my god is Andrei chinny).

We shall see...

Both can be very inconsistent and I am sort of getting the vibe that it's time for Overeem to get caught again. I think Overeem is the more talented fighter but the circumstances of this fight (coaching situation, anger coming off a loss, etc) seem to favor Arlovski. The closer it gets to fight time, the more I think AA has a real shot to find Overeem's chin. I'd rather see Overeem win though so we have the next contender (after Stipe) on a nice winning streak. If Arlovski wins, everyone at HW will have alternated wins and losses recently.

2 guys with
serious k.o power
relatively poor chin
relatively poor defense although it looks like Reem has tightened up on his

either way im expecting somebody to go down

Reem seems to have worked around his chin. Improvised his game plan. However you want to explain it. I see him winning. If he fought like he used to, he could get caught, but he fights a lot smarter.
