I don't want to see another fighter finish like wilfredo benitez is painful.. Overeem has been ko'd many times by heavyweights, this guy is going to finish like a vegetable

You want him to retire, and he wants to... rematch NGannou. lol.

You could probably have said that without the video.

Reem is so unfucking predictable, you just never know what will happen. That's why we love him.

$750,000 base pay is hard to say no to.

EconoReem could actually win.

He has to stick to the kicks and avoid throwing punches. His hands are actually horrible to be honest.

Hes one of those guys reaching the twilight of this career who i'd like to see go over to Rizin to wreck shit for a few more fights like it was the good ol days again.

what you guys dont undertand is that fighters who dont get KO and who are known for taking beatings (hendo, hunt, liddell) are worse off then those who get tko or KO quickly.

also i think so too retire or go somewhere where he can easily destroy the competition to make lots of money like rizin or bellator and become champ. But if all he needs is 1 more or 2 more wins to get title shot i say he might as well stay. Overeeem if he win next fight will be 7/9 wins out of 9 fights. 7 wins. that a lot should get title shot.

He's being well paid and set for life and i wanna see him compete again since he's still a top contender, so agree on disagree bro.

Maldonado will be brain dead by 45

He needs to juice to the gills and go to Bellator

I don't think he will be the same after the last ko

As long as he can still win on any given night and he feels the same then he's not going anywhere.

The good thing with Reem is that it only takes a single shot to put him out. Pretty sure that's healthier for the brain than repeated trauma, like a guy with an iron chin who just gets blasted over and over.

Should he, for his health?

Maybe. Yeah.

But he is still good enough to compete.. fucking HW, old guys that've been KOd a million times still have a pretty good excuse to stay in the sport: they're still good enough.

Unlike guys like Chuck, who had to retire both for health and by the time they were mentally and physically fucked, they just weren't good enough to compete anymore.

He should retire when he wants to not when some unathletic fan tell him.

It's unbelievable that Overeem is still so articulate and elite as a fighter with the damage he's taken over his career. I've never seen anything like it.

I'm not sure this story will have a happy ending for him, though. As you say, if anyone is at risk for CTE...

Well, he is about to destroy Blaydes so he at least has one easy fight in front of him
