Love him or hate him Overeem has always been sharp in interviews. Here he is talking about war and it's clear that his speech is changing. His thoughts are more disorganized and his Dutch accent is more prevalent (no Dern joke intended). The smarter you are, the more damage you can take before the damage becomes apparent. I think Overeem has finally run out of IQ points.

I'm sorry but this is nonsense, these threads need to stop. If you listen to someone speak long enough there's always gonna be times when they sound different. He is talking about a pretty deep and sensitive topic, of course the words will come out slower. The longer you listen to a non native speaker the more likely you are to hear a bit of accent, it's normal.

Scary to think it can take up to 10 years for brain damage to set in. These guys are so fucked. I wonder if mma and combat sports in general will become less popular in the future as we learn more and more how serious traumatic brain injury is. Sometimes I will genuinely wonder why I like mma so much when I see guys take life altering damage, then retire way to late only to come back for the show money, already punchy and broke. When Reem fights anymore I can't help but think if the other guy even brushes that tiny head he's going on queer street or straight stiff if it cracks that chin. If he ever became HW champ he would lose it in less than two fights. I don't mind Reem either. An impressive specimen when on juice.
