Overeem has a message for those who criticize him for being smaller

he has a good point tho. the best hw's are the ones that can move, and he was a lhw in pride

Shit, that actually makes sense. I don't believe him but it makes sense

You want to see a musclehead panic ask him if he lost weight or tell him he looks smaller...

Well, even at his "diminished strength" he is plenty big and strong enough for the division. He isn't getting over powered by anyone. I think more mass would indeed be a weakness.

5 rounds of 5 minutes?

Reem has never been out of the third

In fact, when in the last five years has he even been scheduled for five? the fight against AA, thats it?

What aren't you getting? In his last fight he trained for a 25 minute fight, it doesn't matter that he KOed Arlovski before that, he trained to go the full 25 minutes and cardio is more important than an even bigger strength advantage.

I agree, he's already stronger than probably every other HW at 244, so staying light makes more sense because cardio has been one of his biggest problems and strength never was one.

This is something sadly I wish Hunt picked up on earlier in his MMA career. With MMA gloves you don't need the same power compared to K1, like he said 111kg is still fucking heavy and still brings big power just more agility, speed and stamina.

well what he said doesn't make sense, because his last fight with Arlovski was the only 5 rounds scheduled fight he has had in UFC since Brock. so isn't he contradicting himself?

No, he's not, people are saying he got smaller recently and he's saying well recently I have been training for 5 round fights because I just fought Arlovski in a scheduled 5 round fight and likely will have another 5 round fight in his next fight against the Werdum vs Stipe winner so cardio is more important. He also mentioned that K-1 is only 3, 3 minute rounds and is less cardio intensive because there is no grappling so he's saying cardio is more important in MMA than K-1.

He shouldn't try to explain that situation because it's only adding to the criticism.

Truth has be typed here. Thank you sir.

I think Rothwell or Hunt wins the title for brute strength.

Like people mentionned, he's still stronger than anyone in the HW division. Nobody is outpowering him, and his cardio is 100x better than it was before.

This is the best Reem ever.

Totally see your point. But if his eventual goal is to fight for the title, it seems like he has the right idea getting used to
fighting with a body that is ready to go 5 rounds.

Now if Cris Cyborg could only realize what he did at a much larger scale.
