Overeem confirms the title fight on 12th of november is a sure thing

I want to believe, but I feel like no matter what happens the UFC is actually going to stick Cain in there

Maybe before, but now he's a liability. Always getting injured and hasn't fought anyone as of late. Overeem deserves it. Cain can go fight JDS or Bigfoot after Browne.

He's always been a liability though and they tried to give him an instant rematch with Werdum. They just seem like they really want him to be the champ
 
Sounds good. He deserves it. It would be kind of fitting if Werdum beats Miocic and it ends up being Werdum vs Overeem III for the belt. They would have fought in Pride, Strikeforce and the UFC. It's the rubbermatch as well.

As a Cain fan, I would be so pissed if he gets this and not Reem.

This is just wrong. Reem current run is one of most deserving a shot in a long time
 
It worked for Miocic. Miocic bluffed his way into a titlefight. Dana at the presser said he was scared of Miocic and he had to give it to him. And guess what? He did!
 
Fat chance if Werdum wins. He will probably not fight again until 2017 if he retains.
 
Who else is more deserving than the reem? Hell, he should have got it over stipe imo. Cain needs a couple wins before getting another titleshot. Cain vs JDS 3 for the number one contender spot? Lol I think it could more competetive this time round
 
awesome if true. UFC's word doesn't mean much, but if they said it, then at least they're considering it. They probably told Cain the same thing.
 
I highly doubt Reem is getting a title fight at MSG

Conor vs Frankie or Aldo
Ronda vs Miesha or Holly
Jones vs Rumble possibly
Weidman if he wins the title vs whoever

all very likely for MSG before a heavyweight title fight. Probably two of the above too happen not just one at MSG

The ufc even knows that would be a huge fuck up

Overeem got a new contract prior to the AA fight

He probably was given a guaranteed title shot
 
Is this as set in stone as Fitch's title shot after he beat Alves at UFC 117? lol
 
I don't even believe it when the UFC says it much less Overeem..

It's not that, it's business. Cain is very possibly going to be champ again; I think he is likely to recapture the title, assuming (and, yes, this is a big if) he comes back in prime shape. If so, they want dominant champs they can build. Werdum ain't that, he will not hold the title for long. They are marketing who they think is more likely to be consistently successful. I think they are right in doing so.

However, Overeem is also highly marketable and is on an amazing streak. It will be interesting to see which fight they make. My guess is Overeem.
