Media Overeem as ubereem had so solid and tight striking defense.

People clearly forget how massive Overoid looked against Teixeira. Guy was so juiced, you could literally see the bumps eroding from the back of his upper neck and spine.

"Open the fridge, he is out cold" LOL

Never gets old. Every time, it hits the same way.

True, but he trained insanely hard to build those massive traps, delts, biceps, pecs etc. He used to squat 400 - 500 lbs and did farmer's walk with 400+ lbs. There is a video of him doing the "wheel of pain" with massive amounts of weight. He was on a full on strongman regimen. Japanese people's jaw dropped in disbelief when they saw Ubereem throwing Sumo wrestlers out like they weighed nothing.

I feel like Cain or Stipe would get clipped by Ubereem, and couldn't take him down. It's debatable, Stipe had a better chin and Cain better wrestling.

JDS could crack at that time, and KO'd Cain while Ubereem was at his peak, but also jabbed it out with Roy and Carwin when he wanted to avoid power strikers. I still think Ubereem would win, but JDS would have the best chance.

Unfortunately Ubereem only fought once against Brock in UFC before getting popped, after that he never looked the same physically or had that much confidence. I also wonder how DC vs Overeem would've gone in Strikeforce GP. Or Fedor for that matter.

Even though it was Kickboxing and not MMA, we still saw Ubereem could get cracked in those Saki and Badr Hari fights.

In MMA, even in that Ubereem form he would still be vulnerable against powerful strikers with small gloves that could penetrate his cover-up defense which worked in K-1 but not in MMA because of the smaller gloves.

The guys I mentioned when they were at their peaks had no fear of any man, not even that version of Overeem. Like I said I could go 50-50 on any of those matchups.

I mean even in the short fight with Ben Edwards you can see how Overeem benefitted from the gloves for defense, he had some head movement, but his shell was great with those gloves in between his offense. UFC fighters really took advantage of that especially later in rounds. No way they would've hung in with Ubereem in K1.

I actually think he was the best HW in the world when he was in that form. If you had him in his prime, those years, not sure who can beat him.

Nope.. that same defense work with mma gloves (prime Rampage) and even in bare knuckle muay thai as well.

Also check out cage muay thai

Ubereem vs DC or Fedor have always been the biggest what/if fights I can think of. Shit even DC vs Fedor would've been unreal

Overeem was the king of "he was winning until he wasn't". Bigfoot, Travis Browne and Rozenstruik are the ones I remember off the top of my head. The Rozenstruik fight, overeem beat his ass until literally, LITERALLY the last 5 seconds of a 5 round fight.

I'm sure there were other fights I won't remember. But Econoreem was incredibly impressive to me. Everyone knew you just had to blow on his chin to get a devastating ko finish but not everyone could.

The fucking BEATING he put on Roy Nelson makes me uneasy and I never liked Roy Nelson

Obviously Nelson is kind of a bum but his ability to take half a dozen flying knees to the gut and still make it to the final bell is impressive

Young Overeem was already known for that at LHW as well.

It would've been awesome to see Ubereem vs prime JDS. I know Overeem finished him 4 years later, but they were both different guys by then.

You can tell its all steroids because his legs dont match his upper body. Hulk upper body and Biden legs
My favorite was people arguing Overeem never juiced, despite gaining like 30 pounds of muscle in 15 months.

Jabbeb it out with Roy Nelson? He landed about a dozen flying knees on Roy.

Against DC on steroids and DC isnt? ofc Overeem wins that one

DC vs Jones if jon fights clean would have been interesting forsure, probably 50-50

Did Roy piss blood for a week after that? Holy shit. His liver got liquified. His legs got smashed too.

That's a tough motherfucker though to take all that punishment.

TRT Vitor esque. Ubereem was a problem.

Its the knees and body kicks. I think Cain and Stipe could def win, but Ubereem put some huge guys down with those knees and kicks. That GP he backed out of, or got hurt or whatever ... .DC, Fedor, Rogers. I wanted to see him fight all three. At that moment in time I really wanted to see the Fedor fight. And fucking Rodgers was kicked the shit out of him until he got caught with an over hand.
