Social Over The Counter Medicine That Works

That's the ingredient. Guaifenesin.
Yea it just makes your sputum more thinner so you can hock loogies easier. Most people don't have that issue. It does very little for your runny nose. Maybe 1st gen anti histamine if you want to sleep and 2nd if you want to stay awake for runny nose. Try a suppressant like dextromethorphan for a cough. That is the tussin stuff.

This works good for congestion. Last year I had a sinus infection. This year I was starting to get one and I used this and I ended up getting better quick. The doctor told also told me to use it along with Flonase and Afrin.

Generic Allegra for allergies. My first night of recent sickness I couldn't lie down to sleep because shit was bubbling in lungs and couldn't breathe. I realized I had several yr old bottle of this and took one tablet and dried up enough to breathe, but next few nights it didn't have the same effect. Didn't dare take two in one day because it was the 24 hr version.

Yogurt will fix the runny nose as well as leaky anus. Don't blink.

I recently read an article about gut bacteria and its power to boost the immune system where the research was using gut bacteria to boost the power of anti cancer meds and enabling immune system to seek and destroy cancer.

I use a neti every day and the only cold I have gotten in the last 15 years has been when I was in south east Asia.

Pepto normally. I was too late the other morning though after going out for an anniversary very rich, very garlic anniversary meal at a French restaurant the night before.

Just take any 2nd gen antihistamine. It should stop your runny nose.
Hayfever pills for a cold virus?

Since I stopped working I can't remember the last time I had a cold but used to 2 or 3 times a year. Which do you recommend?

I used to watch a lot of House when I was in skool. No cure for common cold. Colds are self limiting and it might last up to 10 days. You are only treating the symptoms or make it tolerable while you are sick. Depending on what you have then you treat accordingly. Those cold meds take a shotgun approach to treating the symptoms. They contain a few drugs to help with the symptoms.

The acetaminophen or NSAID for fever and aches or sore throat. Dextromethorphan for cough suppressant. Antihistamines or oral decongestants such as pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine for congestion issues. You use what you have at home and what you aren't contraindicated for use. Some people with uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes can't take oral decongestants. You use what you like to make the duration of illness seem shorter. Some sherbros here like oxymetazoline but I can't tolerate it. It works for a few times then I get a rebound effect. Symptoms don't get worse but the medication stops working. Oh yea drink lots of water and get plenty of rest.

This sounds very complicated for a common cold. I do like Lemsip because it's comforting and quite tasty, the vapour clears your nose if nothing else. Cough suppressant I used to treat with smoking, backing off for a few days made it worse.

Lemsip is acetaminophen(I think you guys call that panadol or paracetamol) and phenylephrine. Pretty much all those cold medications contain a combo of those type of medicines.

I dont think people realize entire illness relief aisles are countless different brands and products all with the same 5 or so drugs. With prices varying fucking wildly for the same base ingredients. Read the labels people.
