The Evil Dead
Dracula
The Lighthouse
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Eraserhead

Hereditary and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead are also pretty damn good

Frankenstein, Poltergeist, Lost Boys, TCM, Evil Dead

The fact that Frankenstein isn’t running away with this proves, just as Dracula did in the previous poll, just how dumbed down today’s movie audience is.

For me, De Palma's Carrie is the best. It has an intriguing story, outstanding cast, great music and score, IMG_20231022_092143.jpg and memorable cinematography, plus one of the best jumpscares in movie history.

This is probably one of the toghest brackets for me.

Voted
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Frankenstein 1931
Texax Chainsaw Massacre 1979
REC
Carrie 1976

Considered it
Dawn of the Dead 2004
Eraserhead
Evil Dead 1981
Polstergeist
Jaccobs Ladder

Coming of age story with vampiric teens.
LOL. Yeah. No. Coming of age stories don’t feature wooden stakes through the heart and death by stereo.

I mean, by that logic Halloween is the story of a young, virginal teen having a very rough night babysitting, while A Nightmare on Elm Street is about a wild pack of teenagers staying up way past their bedtime.
